More than one person here has praised the Kirkland Organic EVOO. I just bought
a bottle, and have to say that it is by far the best tasting olive oil I've ever had. This afternoon I'm going to use it to make parmesan/anchovy salad dressing. Nice sounds coming from the next room, as my son is playing his new saxophone. It sounds better than his old student model. The guy at the music store who sold it to us is a fellow old glam rocker. --Bryan Ian said, "It's OK, Ann. Do you know what glam rock is?" "Sure." "So do I," said Winter. "It's where straight guys pretend to be bi, or even ***, and other straight guys eat it up. My dad's big into it. Way more than Ian even." |

I'd love to try some of those recommended Kirkland items, but am not a member. I think a neighbor might go to a Costco - I'll have to drop a hint or two, or bum a ride there with her someday. I recall a Stan Getz performance, live in the 60s. Quite a sound. |

If you have a Costco gift card in hand, you'll be able to shop without being a member and won't need one to accompany you when you shop. -- Avoid cutting yourself when slicing vegetables by getting someone else to hold them. |

It could be the person at the door was not fully trained. If that was the case, the person with the gift card would go to the membership desk and get a day pass or ask to see a supervisor. The worst thing that could happen is you'd be sent to get a day pass. Either way, problem solved. BTW: This article says to buy several $10 gift cards. Use one to gain access. Use it that day and pay cash (or debit) for anything over $10. Save the other gift cards for later. http://lifehacker.com/5852788/how-to...t-a-membership -- Avoid cutting yourself when slicing vegetables by getting someone else to hold them. |

When the Costco opened in the next county, I called about a day pass and was told that they will let me in the store but I cannot buy anything if I don't pay the membership dues. If the gift card doesn't come with a membership, they probably won't let you use it. > > BTW: This article says to buy several $10 gift cards. Use one to > gain access. If the gift card doesn't come with a > membership, they probably won't let you use it. Yes, a day pass does not let you purchase anything the way you used to with it. Now you need a gift card and you can't just up and buy it by yourself, a member has to do it for you. However, the gift card lets you enter as if you had a membership and you present it at the checkout counter as if it was a membership card. The website I cited says to buy the smallest one and buy a lot of them if you think you want to go there often. Buy the membership and if you don't make your fee back by way of money back on the card (be sure to charge every trip on it), they will refund your membership fee on request. > > > > BTW: This article says to buy several $10 gift cards. The bulk of their profit is made by selling membership cards that are rarely used (like mine), so selling gift cards for one time only entrance (which are often put into a drawer and forgotten, like most gift cards) only serves to increase their bottom line. -- Avoid cutting yourself when slicing vegetables by getting someone else to hold them. |

After me sounding like a parrot at least a half dozen times that it is n-o-t a money saver for me he has finally shut up. One Costco is 63 blocks (give or take 5 or 6 blocks and how many miles that is I have no idea)away from me and that's the one I visited with them about 2 years ago to buy a new TV on their card. The other one is 18 miles away. The gas alone would negate any savings I could possibly hope to gain and I don't need the sizes and quantities his family consumes. |

I didn't get a Costco membership for the same reason, but now my new job is close to one, so it's not much extra gas. --Bryan |
