I wonder if the owner took any notice.

I think the reviewer hasn't bothered to read other Guy Feiri menus.
None of them appeal to me, but I'm obviously not in his target group.

I don't understand people who eat at restaurants sponsored and touted by
television celebrity "chefs". It's just another "celebrity" restaurant
chain geared towards shoving more money into their bank account.

What makes Fieri an expert on anything? Who cares if he has a show on
television? Yep, I think he's an ass. He wears sunglasses backwards on
his head and thinks it looks frosty. A Chef? NIMHO. Restaurant owner?
Easy enough to buy into with enough money but difficult to maintain.

Yes, I know. I came across it in an article about why people like to
read negative restaurant reviews. I thought that with all the off-topic
stuff being discussed, it might spur a discussion of food:-)

He has mastered the technique of shoving huge pieces of food into his mouth.

Have you never been in the vicinity and wanted to try one (celebrity
chef's restaurant) just to see what all the hooha was all about?

The menu sounds as bad as the stuff he features on his show.

I liked him way back when he was featured in an actual cooking show.

I thought I did until I saw the menu. Then no. Too much fancy stuff for
me. And very expensive.

It's not a particular food It's the Diners Drive Ins and Dives show where
they only seem to feature huge portions of whatever it is. And whatever it
is, is usually either fried or swimming in sauce.

The closest I ever came was Kenny Rogers Roasters, a rotisserie chicken
restaurant chain. That must have been back in the early 1990's. But
hey, he was a country-western singer, he didn't pretend to be a chef.
The chain didn't last long.

I've watched Diners, Drive-ins & Dives a few times. The places are
interesting but I can't stand watching him take huge bites out of
whatever. (Seems it's usually piled-high sandwiches.)

Why am I supposed to remember the name of a past series when I don't
even know which Giada or Ina series I'm currently watching? You can
google it too.

I don't know which is worse, whether it is watching him try to cram
something into his mouth with two hands or to watch him try to
manipulate a fork.

Seriously, who takes that big a bite of a sandwich? What's he's trying
to prove? Using a fork seems rather out of his realm on DD&D. He still
manages to stick a huge amount of whatever food it is into the gaping
maw using one, though. It certainly does not make me want to eat
anywhere he's saying is good.

When he uses a fork it is usually has so much piled onto it that he has
to hold his hand under it to catch the stuff falling off. He seems to
lack the dexterity to use a knife and fork to cut and delivery an piece
small enough to fit into his mouth without needing a spare hand to cram
the piece in.

More women than men eat that way, they've had more practice... haven't
you ever watched women attack a banana... most men are more adept at
genital nibbling... oh, I meant gentle nibbling... oh well, same
difference.

I've seen a couple eps in the past, but I can now watch it all. The
1st ep was pretty interesting. Good food ideas and you can duplicate
them fairly easy. Yes, GF is a douche, but then who isn't.

His sunglasses on the back of his head is nowhere near as annoying as
a guy who was part owner of the best pub in our town. He never worked
there, jes dropped in to be seen by his adoring fans (it was a really
good pub) and oversee his kingdom. He would take his Italian designer
sunglasses off his eyes and park them right in the middle (?) of his
Luke Perry forehead. Not on top of his head, like most ppl, but in
the middle of his forehead!! I don't even think I can do that. It
was infuriating! I wanted to slap 'em across the damn room, along
with the smug smile that always accompanied his gloat. 8:|

Well you watched it so I assumed you would know. I believe I saw somewhere
that he won a competition show and that's what made famous. But I don't
think I was watching The Food Network at the time because I don't remember
that show.

Pretty sure there is a show with that name.

I also dislike him grabbing and eating food in the kitchen.

I was watching that Bizarre Foods show the other day for the final bit of it
only because I wanted to see what came on after it. I was shocked to see
the guy sample some Hungarian paprika with his fingers from a vendor's stall
and then put the rest of it that he didn't eat back in the container. Um...
No!

If you're still curious, Google is your friend.

He's like 1980's cool or something. If 1980 ever comes back, he may be
cool again.

IIRC, he got his TV start on Food Network Next Star as a contestant I
guess he won. He also hosted a game show on NBC for a season. He has
the raucous personality needed for it I guess.

That reminds me of a show I've caught on Food Network a couple of times.
'Restaurant Impossible'. Robert Irvine. Sorry, never heard of him
until I saw a few episodes of this show. When he takes off his glasses
(not sunglasses, thankfully) he parks them in the middle of his
forehead. I agree, it looks ridiculous.

People who wear sunglasses at night to look cool have no idea how stupid
they look.

Google found me this in about 20 seconds.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guy_Fieri

He won the second season of The Next Food Network Star on April 23,
2006.

Yeah. I already know that. What I wanted to know was the show that sf
liked. Google can't tell me that!

Look at the list of shows he's done. It's the one with the red
refrigerator.
