They're an improved Russet Burbank, which was an improvement over existing potato varieties. People who reflexively scream about GMO varieties sound as ridiculous as the people who rail against in vitro fertilization on the grounds that it's unnatural. Both are techniques that can be misused, in which case they are worthy of criticism. But most of the time it's just progress as usual. |
