Granddaughter is coming with her parents on Monday and they are leaving
early Friday morning. I had her mom text me a list of what she eats and on the list of 6 items was clementines. You cannot buy those little, orange suckers in any quantity less than 5 pounds! I now have a mesh bag of clementines taking up a goodly part of my fridge. Q: Can these balls of space-hogging citrus live outside of the refrigerator? -- From somewhere very deep in the heart of Texas |

A friend's dad built a rack to store citrus in his basement (his Texan brother would send him grapefruit every year). He rigged a fan to blow air over it to prevent spoilage. The basement was roughly 55 degrees during the winter. If your basement (or garage) was cold enough, I would stash it in a basket and maybe try the fan thing. |

Thin skined citrus like tangerines and clementines should be stored below 40ºF. http://foodservice.sunkist.com/citru...uidelines.aspx Once harvested citrus loses it's Vitamin C quickly, especially at warmer temperatures. |

![]() When I buy a 10 lb. bag of oranges, they go into the fridge and I TRY to pull one out at night so it's not so @$#% cold in the am. So many things to remember in old age, huh? Just remembering to take pills and close the garage door can be tough. |

When I hit 65, Mother Nature said: "here's your belly fat!" I'm a size 6, no longer a size 4, and most of that is taken up by the dreaded belly fat. Same thing happened to my Dad. He was thin as a rail and ate whatever wasn't nailed down until he hit his 60's then he developed a belly.
