Red sauce served over angel hair pasta. Store-bought garlic
(Texas-style) toast. I turned it into cheese-toast by sprinkling some store brand shredded "Italian" cheese on the toasted garlic bread and putting it under the broiler until the cheese was nicely browned. I really like adding coursely chopped zucchini along with yellow onion and garlic to this dish. Feel free to add bell pepper. I rarely have one on hand. The cooked vegetables go into the pot with the tomato sauce. The usual seasonings: salt & pepper, dried marjoram, thyme, sage, oregano. Simmered on very low heat for about an hour, stirring occasionally. Cook the pasta, plate and serve with sauce and toasted bread. What a nice simple dinner. ![]() Jill |
