Friends of mine have a food blog. Their's is unusual in that the
writing is always as impeccable and interesting as the recipes. I get a lot of great inspiration from their unusual and delicious offerings. These friends are centered in the Chicago area, so sometimes there is mention of things that would interest those who are nearby. http://www.blue-kitchen.com/ And many of you are familiar with David Lebovitz, I am sure, as he is an accomplished baker of some renown. He has a great cake detailed today and his offerings, too, are so well written, as well as being informative, that those of you who have not read him, owe yourself the treat. David, of course, lives in Paris. http://www.davidlebovitz.com/2015/01...a-cake-recipe/ OH...and about those olive oil based lemon squares from the NYT....several folks have written to the NYT saying the topping never gels. Huh. I might skip that altogether this weekend. Boron |

Huh. I might skip that altogether this weekend. I've saved several of his recipes. In fact, I saved one for ice cream today. http://www.davidlebovitz.com/2007/11/the-easiest-cho/ -- A kitchen without a cook is just a room |

I suppose there may be spices he does not mention but I've yet to come across one! -- Jim Silverton (Potomac, MD) Extraneous "not." in Reply To. |
