Nothing to do with "Super Bowl" but I can't think of a better name for
it. Lately, I have taken to just mixing whatever's around in a bowl and having it for dinner. Generally, it's been some fresh, chopped veggies like tomatoes, red peppers, onions, broccoli, etc., plus some meat item - was leftover pulled pork plus diced, pan-seared pork tenderloin one day, has been ground beef another, and finally something mushy like guacamole or tomato sauce. Maybe pad thai comes close. It's been fun, and every combination I've tried, I've enjoyed so far. Of course, most of my ingredients have been leftovers and these have been done when I'm in a hurry, which has been a lot lately. Anyone else do this sort of thing and perhaps has figured out what combinations work and don't work? For me, I think I'd call it three ingredients - a fresh vegetable, a cooked vegetable and a meat. -S- |

I wouldn't have enough leftovers to make it entirely of leftovers, but a taco bowl is certainly a great excuse to use leftover roast chicken or pulled pork that has been turned into carnitas. -- A kitchen without a cook is just a room. |

I like strips of chicken, beef or pork mixed in a bowl with broccoli, cauliflower and red bell pepper. Other veggies will sometimes be zucchini and yellow squash, mushrooms, and whatever other fresh veggies I have on hand. MaryL |
