I was at the grocery store today, looked didn't see it. Asked the
first produce person I saw and he hadn't heard of Rooster potatoes

The "first person" you saw was most likely just another worker who wouldn't have known a kumquat from a banana. Ask someone with knowledge i.e. the produce manager if available. Actually, why bother, just "google" it.
