Just found it.

https://www.yahoo.com/makers/brownie...813490125.html

Somehow, though, I thought most people PREFER nuts in brownies, aside from
allergy considerations - or the expense of walnuts. (One can use cheap
sunflower seeds instead.)

One thing I've done (though not with a mix) is to take out a little of the
sugar and mix melted marshmallows in instead. (If you don't melt them first,
they'll rise to the top and likely burn.) It was popular.

And, I have to add, if there's one thing that annoys me about ANY recipe,
it's when it calls for a tiny amount of something that you can only buy in
much larger amounts!

Maybe you know how to make cherry-pie filling (canned style) from scratch?

I don't know that most people prefer nuts. I also don't know that they
don't. I don't think I ever made them with nuts. Perhaps because my
brother hated walnuts and pecans.

I made brownies a lot when I was a kid and I often stirred things in.
Chocolate syrup, chopped up candy, chocolate chips, whatever I could find
around the house.

If you have leftover Ricotta cheese, you can mix in an egg and a little
orange or lemon extract then use it like you would cream cheese for cream
cheese brownies. I suppose you could do the same with cottage cheese if you
whizzed it up well to get the curds out. Hmmm... I think I shall try that.
I have some cottage cheese and eggs to use up.

You can easily make parfaits with pie filling. Cherry is really good
layered with chocolate pudding.

I like fudgy brownies, so I'd get brownie mix in the cheap yellow box
(remember those?) and underbake it. Let it set up overnight and it
was total yum, with or without nuts.

Me either. I used to see frozen fresh cherries, but I don't even see
that anymore.

I meant sweet cherries, but I bet you knew. You're smart that way.

I make _ Barb Schaller's Orgasmic Brownies_ and wow are they good. I've used Ghirardelli boxed brownie mix in the past and it's not too bad.

I like nuts, but not in my brownies. Especially walnuts. A really good
brownie stands on its own chocolatey goodness.

I guess I'm a purist on some things, like vanilla ice cream.

I make Rocky Road brownies sometimes- mini-marshmallows, nuts and
chocolate pieces. They were always a hit at bake sale days at school
when the kids were little.

I also make mint-frosted brownies. About 2 minutes before I take the
brownies out of the oven, I lay out a bunch of chocolate mints (After
Eight is a good choice) on top, and when the pan comes out of the
oven, I smooth the melted mints over the top like frosting.

That's brownie over kill for me, but at least I'm consistent because I
don't like rocky road ice cream either.
