I still have no appetite so eating will not be happy for me. Nor am I making a big deal out of food tomorrow. Husband is being provided food at work tomorrow. I will make Angela whatever she wants from what we have but she's still sick too. She's making a cake right now. Am hoping she won't need too much help because I'm not in the mood for baking. I just did another pan of those oatmeal bars. That's one thing that does taste good to me. |

They only have to pay the bartender(s) and have minimal staff to clear and clean the tables. The hot dogs are self-serve so no waitstaff required. The soup is kept warm in crock pots. We've probably all known someone like that at one time or another. the lamb I'm cooking. I bought a small bottle of Pinot Noir for the splash of light red wine I need to deglaze the pan. Red wine (the tannins) bothers me so I don't drink it. The rest of that bottle will likely sit for a long time. Maybe I can find a use for it in a marinade. I'll have to do some searches. :) Jill |

What trimmed scraps? I guess you don't make cakes? She made a round, two layer one and it puffed up quite a bit. So I told her to trim the bottom layer to make it flat. You simply run a bread knife across the domed part and then you put the trimmed cake down on the cake plate so it doesn't rock around. That's cake making 101 right there. I have made plenty of other cakes where I had to cut the cake into pieces to form a certain shape and sometimes there are little bits leftover. Not the case here but it really floors me that you would even ask such a thing. |

I'm sure that you know that you must put the two flat sides together so the top doesn't crack. If you get enough height on that cake, it's going to be rounded. So one of two things would have to happen. Either you put a big ring of frosting around where the cake will sit so it will sit flat, or you trim it. *shrugs* |

You could do things to help the situation, such as eating properly and helping your immune system. Toughen up and push through how miserable you feel, go outdoors and get some physical exercise of some sort. I know you 'can't' and won't, but I'm just putting it out there regardless. I have the standard type as opposed to whatever type Cindy Hamilton's husband has. When you have that, the pushing through pain will only cause a flare. So I do best to avoid that. AFAIK there is no way to get over this any faster. I unwittingly gave it to my mom and SIL. My first symptom was loss of appetite and a migraine. I don't normally get migraines of loss of appetite is pretty common for me so I really thought nothing of it. My lifestyle is not unhealthy. I see my Dr. regularly and I follow his advice. |

When frozen, put the cubes into a ZipLoc bag. It keeps quite nicely. I do this with leftover wine, coconut milk, and other stuff that you only require a small amount of for each recipe. I actually keep a dedicated ice cube tray (separate from my "ice" ice cube trays) for stuff like this. Doris |
