That is such a sad but penetrating insight.

Folks like yourself and Julie make positive energy here, something to be
hailed, not chased off.

I was thinking, if I made a checklist of how many of the regulars here
are angry, wounded, decisively hurtful, etc. it would likely comprise
the bulk of the group, sad to say.

One of these days you'll stop being her champion. She doesn't cook, she
opens cans. Canned chicken, canned turkey. She won't handle raw
poultry and never even *thinks* about not freezing all the meats she
buys the minute she gets them home. How can you, who claim to be such a
good from scratch cook, possibly think she's for real?

Why on earth should it matter to you or anyone here if she chooses to
exercise free will and eat tinned goods?

You've got some kind of ingrained controlling nature for sure - whether
that's born of an unhappy life or just simple innate spite for others is
beside the point.

You go out of your way to attack her, and others, and your volleys are
not exclusively topical either.

You go straight at the person, only using the topic as a jumping off point.

You need to go back to your neurotic kvetching over the Dataw menu
abominations, at least there's remnant humor in that oft repeating schtick.

Oh give it up, shrew.

She just posted a lovely casserole primer and that's the best you can

And in doing so surrounded herself with far more wisdom and goodness

One certainty - you'll never stop attacking her.

Her White Castle Casserole wasn't canned, now was it dearie?

Can you imagine, she dares make choices for herself that set you into
lather!

It's a plot I tell you now, it's all plot to get your goat!

Who are you, of all people, to question HER reality, or anyone else's
for that matter?

Your serpentine nature hisses out with each succeeding post.

Did you have a recipe to share, dear?

No matter, how about some spite pea soup?

She has formal dinnerware for guests, a set of those wicker paper plate

Like smoking tobacco can take 20+ years and then one contracts a
severe respiratory disease... actually kerosene heaters are worse than
smoking tobacco. You can use a keosene heater for one winter and 20
years later the damage it did will make you deathly ill. Using a
kerosene heater for one winter is the equivalent of smoking two packs
of cigarettes a day for ten years.

I don't think there is one food on the face of the earth that just anyone
will eat. I come from a family of picky eaters. I cook for them.

Then you had better change your tune ASAP because that is certainly how you
come across. I did say that I made a Marionberry crisp. Nothing came from
a can. So just 'shup. And I do not stand in the kitchen eating from a can.
I don't even eat in the kitchen. As I have said many times, I have a tiny
kitchen. Only ones who eat it in are the cats and only for treats. I got
them a new toy. It's a plate with little blue balls on it that are open on
the bottom. You fill them with treats and they have to push them over to
spill the treats out to eat them. They're good cats and they loved the new
toy!

Okay Jill. I do not do that every day. I said I don't mind eating things
straight from the can. So? Go cook a salmon or something.

They will say that's not cooking because I used crescent rolls. I'm sure if
I tried, I could come up with a way to make those from scratch. But the
point of the recipe is a quick meal.

I have never done that, Jill. Why do you keep repeating that lie? I use
all methods too except for an outdoor grill. I have a stovetop grill pan
but other than that we don't eat grilled foods. And I use fresh herbs too!
I love cilantro.

And you belong with your stupid salmon. Ewwwwwwwww. Jill is making salmon.
Salmon is icky. It has no legs. It's slimy and it lives in the water.
Lord only knows what it eats. It probably stands there on no legs and eats
something unspeakable. Ew, ew, ew. Worse still, Jill felt the need to come
here and speak of her salmon. That's just... Ew! Jill belongs in a group
where they all talk about fish and kaiser rolls.

Do you see how pathetic, sad, and silly that sounds? Probably not. But I
can try.

STFU! I do not eat them out of the can. I said that I do not mind eating
them straight from the can, as in not heated. Not the same thing at all.

No I don't and I also don't have guests. Go off with sf and Jill and talk
of salmon please. Your noses are all growing.

Your problem with that is?

Looks to me like a quick easy dinner to whip up.

I'll be adding tater tots to mine.

Utter lunacy.

Consider, the original involved taking sliders apart and layering their
buns.

Of course, point taken and thank you.

So what? I have canned turkey. I haven't eaten it yet. I don't really
know what I will do with it. I bought it for the winter and I didn't need
it then. I buy canned chicken because I like it in soup and chicken salad.
Everyone here likes my chicken salad and I am not the only one who uses
canned for that. Nobody else eats the soup that I make. I make that for
me.

I cook plenty of things from scratch. I have mentioned many things many
times. Meatloaf, jicama salad, loaves of bread, fruit crisps, crackers, I
even bought a tortilla press recently. I have also mentioned repeatedly
that I am well known in this area for my chocolates and other candies and
cooking and cake making/decorating. I no longer do those things because as
a diabetic, it's just difficult for me to do. That and the food
intolerances. I can't really taste fillings and such.

I have also made a huge variety of art and craft items over the years. I
can pretty much make anything from scratch when I want to. But that doesn't
mean that I will. Sometimes there isn't much point. What's the difference
if I want kidney beans and I cook them from dried or open a can? I tend
only to cook from scratch when I want a lot of them. Or maybe I will find a
good sale on canned and that will be the cheaper way to go. Sodium isn't an
issue for me so either one works.

I am not much of a meat eater. I just prefer vegetables. So?

Oh! I'm sorry. Who died and put you in charge of what people like? Then
again, some people will eat anything. Those people probably like Oreos and
Twinkies too. My husband will eat pretty much anything. I don't think that
makes him special.

Yes but I would not have known where to put it or how to get it there had I
not found the website. Putting it in where the key goes did not help.
