Why do you think we prefer hearing "I like this" rather than "I don't like that" ? People respond positively to positive stimuli, and vice versa. It's your negative attitude on almost every food or meal known to man that attracts so much attention. No human has as many issues as you do to food and even life in general, to my knowledge. This is why many call you a troll. Even I'm still debating this definition. The more you write, the more I question it all. Truth is: I originally pegged you as a PhD candidate in Psychology and you are doing your last dissertation pretending to hate everything and documentating just how others react to negativity of all things...PLUS so many health issues. Two things you have said in the recent past: You don't enjoy the outdoors and you don't enjoy food...you only eat it to survive. Really? Very hard to believe. But I see you as a "nice" person and I like you and try not to pick on you. Your situation (if true) is certainly a unique one. If you don't want want so much negative feedback, just quit replying to all the messages directed to you. G. :-) PS - you are getting your house painted soon. Any questions, I can answer for you to make sure you are getting a good job that will last. Main thing to start with...all outside needs to be washed before painting. |

They were also given an information sheets warning them of the risks of adding Tabasco, i.e., that one dose would be spicy while six doses might cause "temporary extinction of the sense of taste" and "vomiting." So basically they just showed that guys with more testosterone will see the "dangers" of Tabasco as a challenge and use as much as they can stand just to prove how "tough" they are. Yes, testosterone causes men to do stupid stuff, now there's a news flash. Bill Ranck Blacksburg, VA |

Because you DARE to share your opinion on things, regularly and honestly. That drives the conformists nuts! They can't handle the truth, theirs, let alone yours. Ergo - you make yourself a lightning rod for criticism by being candid. Simple stuff really, once you learn hominid herd psychology. |

She knows more than Gary about > painting. Why do you people always lie? I know the painter. He is my neighbor. He also does roofing, siding and other things. Very nice person. He's the one who came to assist when part of our roof blew off. I trust him. He has done other work for us too. I have painted plenty enough things over the years. I used to be big into arts and crafts. Angela has some of my paintings. And yes, I know that painting a house is not like making a painting. I have done house painting. It's just not something I am up to doing now. That little bit in the kitchen was one thing. But two buildings, outside and getting on the roof are not things I can do. We also need some siding repair and a downspout. All of which Jesus can do. |

Article: "Manly Men Eat Spicy Food. It's Just Science Fact"
This thread reminded me of a food (coffee) habit that I witnessed when
I was working as an English language instructor for a US contractor to the Saudi Arabian air force. Our mess facilities were very democratic--ELT instructors, flight line blue shirts, personnel white collars, Saudi warrant officers, and even the occasional Saudi jet jockey all queued up and got served. I noticed that a large number of the Saudi personnel were dashing their (black) coffee with Tabasco from the condiments bar. I asked about this and many said it was a custom. A few said it was the only way to make American-style brewed coffee drinkable. I tried it and I have to admit it's rather good though I wouldn't want to do it regularly. It does seems to amplify the caffeine effect and it can be especially helpful with one's first early-morning jolt. -- Bob Sidera errantia quibus procella tenebrarum in aeternum servata est www.kanyak.com |
