I like chili cheese fritos and put pickled jalapenos on whole wheat toast pizza. I put texas pete hot sauce on scrambled eggs and in armour chilli.

There's a local chain of a couple dozen restaurants, vaguely Greek. They supply cayenne and garlic powder along with the salt and pepper at the table. I sprinkle cayenne and garlic powder indiscriminately over the salad and the faux-gyros. Only there, and nowhere else. Sometimes cayenne on popcorn. Jalapenos (which I agree are not that hot) sautéed into scrambled eggs. I used to be a serious chili-head, but I've aged out of it somewhat. Can't recall the last time I ordered "more than Indian hot" at a local Indian restaurant whose heat levels (IIRC) we mild medium hot Indian hot more than Indian hot Cindy Hamilton |

I used to sell paint. You forgot to write the first sentence in your response: "Thank you for that offer, Gary, but-" I expected that answer from you. Selling paint has nothing to do with a lifetime of using it and knowing the process and what kinds of different paints and primers to use based on conditions. I often hear paint salesman telling a customer what to use for certain conditions and I have to bite my tongue not to say something. It's their store. They only know what the company tells them. They have never actually used the products and see if they last or not. Once again, I'll give you very first basic advice of having your outside painted. Any painted surfaces need to be washed before painting. If you don't do this, you are painting over years of dust and dirt. Your job will look very nice but it won't last very long. You trust your neighbor painter. You should stay awake the day that he starts and make sure that he cleans it all, pressure washing if big areas, hand washing if small areas....at least spray it down with a hose. Julie's response: "In this area, paint jobs don't last very long anyway." |

Please explain yourself. - google to see how many guys admit to sleeping with a female ferret every night (but NOT in *THAT* way, dammit~). I doubt I'm the only one but maybe I could be. heheh Note: Ferrets don't normally sleep next to a human. This one is unique. It's annoying at times, but I'm all she has here so I put up with it. She does keep me awake at nights. The ferret love is girlie stuff as is the sitting down to pee and remember, I played two rolls since my daughter was in 2nd grade. Dad and also Mr.Mom. I had to learn, then teach her all the girlie things as she grew up. How to do makeup, how to curl hair (she used to practice on me :-o ). Anyway, she's 36 now, married with children, and I still get both a mother's day and father's day card from her each year. :-D Anyway, in Virginia....our manhood is not proved by hot peppers. It's by the giant blue crabs that we catch he http://i57.tinypic.com/rjjwco.jpg |

Ophy, I don't think you 'got' her meaning with that. I do the same thing some nights. Someone writes something annoying or whatever and when you first read it you might reply in a mean way...either by emotional response or even if you've been drinking. You send it in the heat of the moment and sometimes you wake up the next morning and wish you hadn't sent it. I do that sometimes. When posting a not-so-friendly response, I've learned to save it as a 'draft' rather than send it. Then the next day, when you are in a different mood, you read it again and then decide to send it or not. I've deleted many drafts the next day by doing that. G. :-D |

Here's a repost of what I said: ------------------------------------------------------------------ When posting a not-so-friendly response, I've learned to save it as a 'draft' rather than send it. Then the next day, when you are in a different mood, you read it again and then decide to send it or not. I've deleted many drafts the next day by doing that. ------------------------------------------------------------------ |

In her area, power washing is a requirement if they want it to last. Given the right conditions paint on stucco can last for 15-30 years around here looking perfect. It doesn't have that lasting quality on wood though. We repaint every 7-10 years. The part of the house with angles to the North look great, just in need of a serious power wash - but the part facing due South is beaten and battered. I want a new shade or color by that time anyway, so it's not a problem for me and hubby goes on the hunt for a painting contractor. > > Julie's response: > "In this area, paint jobs don't last very long anyway." Salt air is hard on house paint, sun is too. You also need to make sure the roof and gutters are tight. Little problems can cause blisters and eventual peeling even with a good power wash and diligent scraping or burning it all off and starting over with 1-2 coats of primer and ending with two finish coats (all high quality paint). -- sf |

Now, please can you tell me how to teach a dog to play with a ball? A dog who has spend her whole life in a home overcrowded with dogs and has never learned to play? That is far more interesting than people bitching. I will love you forever if you can help with that! -- http://www.helpforheroes.org.uk/shop/ |

I've lived in a clapboard home for 30+ years and highly recommend a good prep job as the beginning of a good paint job. The power washer blasts off a lot of loose paint, then the painters take a scraper and remove more. Two paint jobs ago, we had the entire house "burned" because the house was 75 years old by that time and I wanted to start off with a good seal. We'd already taken 3 layers of old roofing off to start from bare wood and it was time to do it with the paint too. -- sf |

If they are not, please elucidate? There was no 'constant'-- I wrote it once only and it was in this thread. There was no innuendo just your interpretation. There was no threat just your interpretation. The message was understood by others. I meant that she often irks me to the point of responding but I write a reply and put it away instead of sending. I also meant that it is often hard to not send. her reply to Gary regarding his offer to help her/give suggestions about her upcoming painting project. She could have just said, Thanks, but I have my neighbor, Jesus, doing the painting. He is experienced, he's done work for us and I trust him. Instead she just blew him off. BTW, you have often made the mistake of attributing something to me that I have not done. As above when you imply frequency. Perhaps you should read before you send. I'm done. Janet US |

The study was done in France. Men were tested for testosterone levels, then handed a plate of mashed potatoes and as many little packets of Tabasco sauce they wanted to add to flavor it, along with salt packets. Providing the Tabasco and salt in packets made it easy to determine how much was used as researchers could just count the open packets. > > Big reveal: Higher testosterone correlated with a higher use of Tabasco, but not salt. > > The thing about the full study was the way they recruited the men: they told them they'd be doing a food-tasting session that had been organized by a food research company, to do a sensory analysis of food that was going to be developed commercially in the future. The men were instructed to abstain from food or drink (other than water) for three hours beforehand, to ensure that they'd be reasonably hungry. Once they showed up, they were presented with 150g of mashed potatoes, 50 satchets of Tabasco sauce (the paper refers to these as "doses"), and 80 satchets of salt. They were also given an information sheets warning them of the risks of adding Tabasco, i.e., that one dose would be spicy while six doses might cause "temporary extinction of the sense of taste" and "vomiting." > > So. Imagine. You're a man between the ages of 18 and 45 and you've been recruited, you thought, for a food research study. You show up expecting to be served something like papaya-flavored yogurt or maybe a quinoa-based breakfast cereal or peppermint frosting. Instead, they hand you a plate with 150g of mashed potatoes on it. Along with fifty satchets of Tabasco sauce. And a chart telling you that six satchets might make you vomit. Delicious! > > What I want to know -- and of course the study doesn't tell me -- is how these people reacted, and how the research assistants kept a straight face. Potatoes? Really? You're testing mashed potatoes? (My husband, on hearing this study, wanted to know who puts Tabasco on their mashed potatoes, anyway. "People who aren't being provided butter or gravy?" I said.) > > Not included in the study results: if you're a man from Grenoble, France, even if you have high testosterone, you are likely to be generous and accommodating to scientific researchers. Either that, or they made some reasonably high-quality mashed potatoes behind the scenes in that lab. This was France; I suppose that part may have been just a given. > > (end) > > > > Lenona.
