Default Squashed green olives with lemon

Has anyone tried these?

http://www.tasteunique.com/squashed-olives-lemon.html

I don't know where I got these but it wasn't from this place. Anyway... I
didn't realize when I bought them that they are packed in olive oil and that
is what I am trying to get over. So long as I drain/blot each one really
well, they taste good. But I just don't like all that oil on there. Why
would they pack these in oil instead of brine? I think they would have been
much better in brine.

How strange, because you repeatedly state how you read every single
label very, very carefully.

So that they taste of olives, not brine.

Funny how label reading seems to be a priority until she buys something
and finds a problem with it. She says she didn't buy them from the link
she provided but I'd be willing to bet she bought them online and simply
didn't bother to read the not-so-fine print.

That would be my answer. To answer her actual question, no I have not
bought squashed green olives with lemon. Then again, I don't want
squashed olives.

I'd never even thought about "squashed" olives until Lidia took a can
to her olives, smashed them and removed the pit. She said that's how
they used to do it and I believe her. Frankly, I like that idea.

Speaking of her, ever watch "Restaurant Startup"?

http://www.cnbcprime.com/restaurant-startup/

That's her son Joe as one of the investors.

Damn but he is a ball buster, must have had the full Monty Catholic
school education with plenty of nun/ruler/knuckle interventions!

They might as well get it from him because being your own boss isn't
easy, particularly if it's the restaurant biz.

No question there.

Joe knows his stuff, he owns a cool Italian concept called "Eatly",
catchy no?

Tim Love is much less pushy, but that's the difference between Tejas and
least coast.

They just wrapped season 2, but I think you can find reruns or stream it.

Fun show, lots of inventive cuisine, and a few gimmicks that are
designed to bedevil the prospects every time.

I do. But the ingredients are not going to tell you that the olives are
*packed* in oil. I have never seen olives packed in oil before.

No. They're just kind of oily.

No. I didn't buy them online. I think I know where I bought them but I
won't say it here because if I am wrong, someone will never let me forget
it.

I have never seen a LABEL (the thing you claim to read) that doesn't
tell you what the olives are packed in (or fish, or fruit, beans, veg
etc)

However, since the ones you showed above are in a clear glass jar,
even you could see the liquid in it was not brine.

She'll decry your statement since she posted a link of what she bought
but she didn't buy it from that place. Always an excuse or a reason for
something to be wrong/incorrect/didn't expect/etc.

And you're _ always_ obsessed with her enough to comment on each thing

It does say that but I only looked at the ingredients. I had just never
heard of olives packed in oil before. Just the fresh or in brine. I do
remember being in a hurry when I bought them. Live and learn.

I just was not expecting them to be packed in oil. This is a first for me
and nobody else here has said that they buy olives in oil so...

It would seem that way. It's getting really sad. It's getting to the point
where it seems silly for me to post anything. Someone will find fault with
it no matter what.

Know what, don't let the *******s/bitches win.

Keep posting, your White castle Casserole was a winner, and there are at
least a few here who genuinely appreciate you.

I said that.

If people can go negative so quickly on a non-controversial thread
about google's ability to act as a timer, they'll go negative on
anything.

Well yes, certainly that would be likely, albeit it's not her PBS
persona, is it?

She seems to be acting more these days. When I first saw her I said "she is
one tough SOB!"

The ones I buy aren't. They even have a sign on the olive bar. I can't
remember exactly what it says but something about how long they will keep.
So many days if not in brine and more days still if in the brine. I do
think they seem to be fattier than the canned/jarred ones that I normally
eat. I had to quit getting the olive bar ones because I always get sick
after I eat them. I think it is due to the fat content. I do like the
taste of them but I never had any from an olive bar that actually felt oily,
dripped with oil when picked up or left oil on my tongue.

Thanks! And I just confirmed where I purchased them. Amazon Fresh. So I
couldn't actually *see* the jar when I got them.

I totally stayed out of that thread. Didn't read beyond the first post as
it was of no interest to me. Please note that by my saying that, I am not
being negative.

That's a fair observation, she's a lot more the Mama Celeste than how
she initially presented.

Ah TV - non reality always.

Let me say this.

I virtually like you.

You have a reasonable and analytical nature combined with enough
backbone to say things just as they are.

That's a rare combination and likely the target you have on your back
from the lemming conformists here.

Do not ever stop being yourself, and do not ever think that people of
insight don't grasp who you truly are.

The rest are jealous wannabes who thrive ONLY on the communal support of
their equally insecure web-mates.

Keep on being you - it's a potion oddly enough designed to attract
trolls and haters, but subtle enough to allow the rest of us a belly
laugh at their sputtering self-decimating fury.

Cheers!

I note that by your having to preface that reply the truly NEGATIVE
trolls who feed on you have modified this entire medium.

That's sad.

I mean really sad.

What does any group become when the real honest participants are shunned
and chased off for being WHO they truly are?

Want to know why I ride Sqwertz?

What he did to Omelet.

That woman was/is a gem.

And he made this place a torture cell for her.

What a sick, demented, worthless hate machine he is.

And the ones that go after you - refuse, human refuse.

I said that.
