Hello,
I plan on bringing deviled eggs to a party on Saturday afternoon. I know not to make the filling mixture until that morning, but how far ahead of time can I boil the eggs without sacrificing safety or quality? If I could do it a couple days ahead, it would be alot more convenient. Thanks for your thoughts. Charlotte |

I usually like a couple of eggs for breakfast, but am always in a
hurray. I hardboil 8 or 10 on Sunday night, and keep them refrigerated, and have them throughout the week. The ones on Friday are just as good as on Monday. They keep for days and days in the fridg raw, why would it be an issue to keep them a few days cooked? HH Charlotte wrote: > Hello, > I plan on bringing deviled eggs to a party on Saturday afternoon. There's a lot of guesswork about this and a lot more plain and simple fear based on ignorance about real spoilage conditions. Cook them, chill in ice water and put into the fridge. Don't worry about them. If they can stay usable raw for literally months, why should their useful lives be so, so much shorter after cooking *still in the shell*? Pastorio |

Never made us sick, but we made sure we kept up with the ice. ;-) K. -- Sprout the Mung Bean to reply... >,,<Cat's Haven Hobby Farm>,,<Katraatcenturyteldotnet>,,< http://cgi6.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...user id=katra |
