Looks much more like a small appetizer than an entree.

Sadly, I couldn't see the pic but I know it was nice.
Here's a stupid question. Is a fish caught from a fresh water lake
considered seafood? Or is seafood only from salt water?

No simple answer:
http://english.stackexchange.com/que...idered-seafood
i consider edible marine life to be seafood... I consider edible
freshwater life to be freshwater fish whether fin or shell... to
discriminate simply name the critter; brook trout, freshwater clam,
crawfish, pickerel, etc.

Looks fantastic! I love fish. It must be 30 years or more since I had
trout.

Thanks Jill, I hope you can have some trout soon. I love it too but
the stinkin' bones are a pain.

If you can find these in a market near you they're perfectly bone-free
and delicious:

http://www.clearsprings.com/media/products/cut-styles/

http://www.clearsprings.com/pdf/cut-...o-REV-12-5.pdf

This is a well-run sustainably farmed product and super tasty.

Their local rep. should be able to tell you where to buy them.

Thank you, I appreciate the information. My trout comes from the lake
down the road from me, so I think I'll deal with the bones.

They can be indeed. I find it's best to cook smaller trout (say, under
2lb) whole, then pick off the flesh from one side of the fish with a
fork, then peel the skeleton away (hopefully intact)...

Bigger trout can be filleted easier and with few (if any) remaining
bones if done right.

Alas, there are no trout around here and they don't show up at the
supermarket. But yes, I have dealt with fish with bones in the past.
Forks come in very handy.

You're welcome.

If you ever decide that processed and deboned is useful these are the go
to guys.

Started eating their product decades ago and have never been disappointed.

We too prefer fresh brookies or rainbows, but that's mainly a vacation
treat.

The one thing that they really have knocked is the process, you would be
hard-pressed to tell this from wild caught.

Puleeze! That would be pretty much all I'd eat. Not everyone eats huge
portions.
