Encouraging wild animals into a residential area and training them to
depend on humans for survival. Brilliant.

Well, Usenet is unmoderated. If you want protection from reality, you
want forums that are moderated. No shortage of them out there... what
are you waiting for?

Oh sorry, I just realised that would solve this particular problem for
you. We can't have *that* happening, can we?

I do not have, and have no need of a "smartphone":-)
As for cats, I have never understood what it is about the damn things
that makes otherwise intelligent people talk about them in such terms
that listening to someone discussing the back nine on some obscure
golfcourse on the outskirts of Boondocks is more interesting.

Wrong. I dislike most moderated forums. I myself have been a forum
moderator but there were very few circumstances in which I would actually
remove a post.

No. That wouldn't solve any problem. Am I having a problem here? Seems
like *I* am not the one with the problem.

And plenty of them will get to that place sooner rather than later. Driving
along a busy street can be fraught when people with their heads down looking
at their phones are not looking where they are going, start to cross the
road.

Oh, a real estate agent. Well, they're basically salesmen/saleswomen,
so I just assume that when they're mouths are moving, they're lying.

Must be a Scotland thing. I don't think you can buy kangaroo or moose
here in the US. Unless maybe some butchers have a licence to sell this
stuff. Certainly never offered in a grocery store here.

I haven't seen them in those places either. They were in a German

I was following a car the other day and it was being driven somewhat
erratically, so I decided to get past it. It was being driven by an

A couple weeks ago I was driving along and an oncoming vehicle wandered
into my lane. The driver was texting.

When self-driving cars arrive, we'll be texting and surfing the
internet. Mostly however, we'll be having sex. :-)

Technically you're correct... but how many had a long term, active
user base? They were few and far between IMO, and never lasted
particularly long for the most part. I'd check now for active
moderated groups, but google groups is next to useless for searching
("we promise not to change anything from Deja" yeah right) and the few
other Usenet search engines out there seem equally limited.
Effectively, Usenet is unmoderated, being my point.
