Uh huh. > You sure like to twist things, Jill! As I said prior, the salon that I used to go to had closed while I was out with my foot problem from last year. No clue where my hairdresser went. When she left the salon closer to here, she did call and give me the name and location of her new place of employment. I began salon shopping and found this one. There was one customer ahead of me and she was hinting around about putting the AC on. Not "all" of the customers. I didn't hang out there all day and I have no clue what (if anything) any of the other customers said. I have a very busy schedule right now and I am most assuredly not going to get into the reasons why. Not here anyway. Because I have been so busy, I hadn't gotten a haircut when I needed one. I finally couldn't stand it any more and got lucky and was able to get in right away. This woman has no other employees and only works certain days and hours. Normally it takes two weeks to get an appointment. And going somewhere else wouldn't really have bettered the situation. While it is possible that there is a salon somewhere here with AC, I don't know of any. Perhaps some of the ones in the mall but I hate going to the mall and I have seen the kinds of haircuts they produce there. Not my thing. |

I have been to some that I seriously wanted to walk out of. I hate movies with a lot of violence in them. Or those that have no plot and are nothing but special effects. Only reason I did not was that I went with other people who seemed to like them. I do remember my parents walking us out of something when I was a kid. I want to say that it was a Jackie Gleason movie but not sure. I just remember in the beginning of it, they showed what appeared to be naked bodies with colorful paint on them. I couldn't see what the problem was because body painting was pretty common during that time period but my mom threw her hands over our eyes and marched us out. I do remember that it was a double feature. Whatever the first movie was, had been okay. My husband and I did walk out of The Crow. I think that was the name. Fine by me because I wouldn't have liked it. But the reason why did not make me happy. Some guy behind us kept talking. Although I could hear him, it didn't really bother me. What did bother me was my husband continually telling the guy to shut up and not being nice about it. Then others telling my husband to shut up. I kept looking around like... Where are the ushers? In the old days they were always in the theater. Not any more. This was a packed theater. My husband got so ticked off because we had missed perhaps 10-15 minutes of the show that we did walk out. However, our money was refunded after he spoke with the manager. I just don't see how people can sit through bad movies but I sure know a lot of them who do. |

Do you have an attic? Perhaps you could have central air installed with the coil and ductwork in the attic, and have vents cut into your ceilings. The returns might be a little tricky, but a competent HVAC designer could figure it out. Cindy Hamilton |

Someone probably pitched it to Hanks as "Want to be in a remake of The Ladykillers, with Joel and Ethan Coen as writer/directors?" It probably sounded like a good idea at the time. Cindy Hamilton |

It seems, Julie, that the majority of your past co-workers have all been jerks for a variety of reasons. I'm a bit older than you and have purchased cars over the years, including ones with AC in the early to mid 70s. I never - not once - heard anything even close to a negative comment about the kinds of cars I was looking at. I ended up with an Audi Fox, with AC. -- DreadfulBitch I'm not a complete idiot. Ever heard of barber shears? Yep. They are what led me to eventually cut my bangs off at the root. I am not a hairdresser nor do I even pretend to be one. I am no good at whatever and I prefer not to walk around looking like I cut my own bangs. I just kept trying to even them out until there were none left. |

Pretty sure if I had bought an Audi (which I wouldn't have), they would have made something of that too. The people who were taking potshots were single mothers who weren't getting any child support. They were likely jealous because there was no way they could have such a thing. Many of them had to take the bus to work. |

It's not anyone on RFC's fault you don't know how to trim your bangs. Sounds to me like you cut them off in a fit of pique. It wouldn't surprise me. Jill |

It was an inexpensive car in both purchase price and daily cost to run. That car never gave me one second's trouble. Foreign? Yes, but this was back at the time when the dealer across the street from the Audi dealer was selling Gremlins and Pacers. There are times, Julie, when your arrogance knows no bounds. What in hell makes you think that single mothers (the groups you've lumped them all in) are jealous, mean-spirited, spiteful people? That's what they'd have to be to be taking potshots at you for your choice of a new automobile. I've worked with my share of jerks over the years, but you seem to take the cake. -- DreadfulBitch I'm not a complete idiot. Some parts are missing. |

I didn't say all of them but these seemed to be. One of them was going on and on about how horrible her nephew was because he wanted some shorts called Jams. I believe that was the brand name. She made the claim that shorts were shorts and there was no need for brand name stuff. These weren't even designer things. This woman struck me as what Byran would call white trash. She did a lot of things that I didn't agree with. Like telling us that the had fed her kids peanut butter pie for dinner and nothing else. Had a filling of Cool whip and peanut butter. Another time she left her kids in the office while she did a breakfast with Santa Claus event. Her kids hadn't eaten breakfast and they were very hungry. The only food I had was candy canes so I gave them each one. Then she yelled at me for having fed them candy. She also didn't speak very well. "Imo go smoke" was a favorite saying. Meaning that she was going to go have a cigarette. She also seemed to think that she was better than everyone else and that her opinons were the only ones that mattered. She was our office manager. Thankfully not the same office that I worked in but we had no wall separating the two offices so she was hard to escape. I did quickly learn not to speak to her unless necessary and never give any personal details. The other one also thought that she was better than everyone, laughing at me because I paid to have my hair cut and because I had moved back in with my parents temporarily, following a car accident. I had to buy a new (used) car and needed a few months to get back on my feet. She thought that was just horrible. Nobody, and I mean, nobody who worked there liked this woman. So we all had a big laugh at her misfortune one night. She had gone out, gotten drunk and climbed over a fence near the Seattle Center that was clearly marked with signs not to enter. Two other coworkers had been in the area and saw her do this. One over the fence, they heard a scream and no longer saw her. So they went to investigate. Seems there was a giant hole on the other side of the fence where they had been working. She fell into it and broke her leg. The police were called and she was arrested for being drunk in public and treaspassing. So when she called in "sick" the next day and said that she didn't know for sure when she would be back, my boss had already gotten the word as to what had really happened to her. She was fired. While the broken leg was unfortunate, she had no business doing what she had done. And I do believe in karma. To top it all off, her boyfriend who was a policeman, broke up with her following this incident. She had Lorded the boyfriend over our heads all the time, claiming that she was going to have a wedding that was out of this world but none of us were going to be invited. She had two boys but I don't know the history of that. Don't know if she was married prior or not. > > -- > DreadfulBitch > > I'm not a complete idiot. Some parts are missing. |
