I cancelled the appointment. That time I had no choice but the trim them myself or have Angela do it as I could not leave the house except to go to the Dr. I did the trimming when I came home from the hospital, still pumped full of whatever meds they gave me there. So probably not a good idea. I have also in the past attempted to trim them myself and I just can not do it. I was not meant to cut hair. I also don't change the oil in my car. If you want to cut your own hair, more power to you. I won't if I can help it. That's why there are hairdressers. And I didn't just get my bangs trimmed. I had an entire haircut. The bangs were just getting to be a problem because they were in my eyes. |

Only someone who is extremely angry would keep cutting their bangs until they have nothing left. I guess you thought someone might notice. It's not hard to trim your bangs. Only > someone who is extremely angry would keep cutting their bangs until they > have nothing left. I guess you thought someone might notice. Nonsense! As I said, I had just come home from the hospital. I was standing on one foot and trying to trim them. I wasn't angry at all but loopy from all of the meds I'd been given. I wasn't able to cut them straight so I just kept evening them out. I am not the sort of person who does destructive things when angry. I might yell or swear. Usually it is more of a growling noise, if I even do that. But most things don't even make me angry. For instance, I don't get road rage. There are some things that I just see no point in getting angry about. I most certainly wouldn't pull a Britney Spears and start attacking my hair. That wasn't what happened at all! I was just sick of the hair in my eyes and thought I would be able to trim a little off until I could get to the hairdresser. I also figured if they weren't perfect, it wouldn't matter because I wasn't going anywhere. Until the following day after I'd had some sleep and awoke to realize that I had in fact cut them off almost to the roots. But I also discovered that there is a word for that. Micro bangs. And they were popular at the time. It's not a look that appeals to me. It's all rather moot now though, isn't it! Except for the fact that I know that I should never attempt ever again to trim anyone's hair. I wound up losing most of my hair following the surgery. From what I have read it was either the strong antibiotics or whatever they gave me during the surgery. Long story short there, I wound up having to get my entire head of hair cut far shorter than I would like, but most of it has grown back. > > It's not hard to trim your bangs. There is as much info available as > there is for shopping for food online. And I could tell you that it's not hard to change the oil in your car. Do you do that? It's not hard to sew your own clothes. Do you do that? I do color my own hair. I have been doing that since I was 12. But I am not doing anything difficult there. My last attempt at coloring it light pink was an epic fail. I wound up with a weird, splotchy, bright orange shade and it did not wash out in 3-4 shampoos like it said. Somebody on Facebook dared me to do it and post a pic following my taking a quiz that said that pink was my ideal hair color. I do not normally do weird hair colors although I did use burgundy mousse back in the 1980's. Normally I just stick to my own shade to cover the grays but when I was younger, I would do highlights. I still sometimes do but generally not. I also do my own nails. I've been doing that since I was a kid. I know many people who don't do there own. If I have a desire to do something and I seem to be good at it then I will do it, or at least try it to see if I am good at it. I do not like cutting hair. I do not like styling hair. Which is why I go with the wash and go style now. I don't even blow dry. I had my fill of that back in the 1970's and 80's. I used to perm my hair and go through all sorts of things with the blow dryer and curling irons. Until I finally hit on a good hairdresser. He was actually a barber and came recommended to me by a male friend. He worked at a salon so I had no clue there. But he did know hair and he eventually let me be his guinea pig. He did fabulous things with my hair that required very little maintenance. Alas, he decided to leave the area. But... I now know that with the right hairdresser who gives me the right haircut, all I need to do really is wash, condition, rinse and go. I do use a few additional products such as something for body and a coconut curling cream. My hair is naturally wavy when longer and slightly curly when short like this. |

It is powered by yahoo. It's fine. Do you trim your own bangs, sf? And I don't search for how to shop for food online. I know how to do that. I did see on the news tonight that there is a new site giving Amazon a run for its money. I think it is called Jet or Jett or something like that. Must look them up. |

I do not have that kind of bangs. Mine are not all the same length. I would not have that kind. Might be okay for a little kid but that isn't my style. And it doesn't work well for curly/wavy hair. Mine has to be layered. The problem I had the last time I did it was that I lost control of the scissors and accidentally cut a section off way too short. It was all downhill from there. |

I remember those days. I've given up trying. I don't know about using tape to trim them. What kind of tape? I comb my wet bangs down in front of my forehead. I gather them together and twist them with my fingers. I hold the wet bangs and cut just below my fingers. Comb them out, fluff them with a comb. They come out sort of feathered and framing the face. Certainly not professional but I don't really care. I'm not trying to impress anyone. I am also not going to pay someone $20 to do the exact same thing for me in some shop. Jill |

I don't have to cut mine at all any more as they are *finally* long enough that I can get all my hair in a scrunchie. I've been working on this for a year and a half. Doris |

The men mentioned above and others who were instrumental in the founding of our nation were in no sense Bible-believing Christians. Thomas Jefferson, in fact, was fiercely anti-cleric. In a letter to Horatio Spafford in 1814, Jefferson said, "In every country and every age, the priest has been hostile to liberty. He is always in alliance with the despot, abetting his abuses in return for protection to his own. It is easier to acquire wealth and power by this combination than by deserving them, and to effect this, they have perverted the purest religion ever preached to man into mystery and jargon, unintelligible to all mankind, and therefore the safer for their purposes" (George Seldes, The Great Quotations, Secaucus, New Jersey Citadel Press, 1983, p. 371). In a letter to Mrs. Harrison Smith, he wrote, "It is in our lives, and not from our words, that our religion must be read. By the same test the world must judge me. But this does not satisfy the priesthood. They must have a positive, a declared assent to all their interested absurdities. My opinion is that there would never have been an infidel, if there had never been a priest" (August 6, 1816). Jefferson was just as suspicious of the traditional belief that the Bible is "the inspired word of God." He rewrote the story of Jesus as told in the New Testament and compiled his own gospel version known as The Jefferson Bible, which eliminated all miracles attributed to Jesus and ended with his burial. The Jeffersonian gospel account contained no resurrection, a twist to the life of Jesus that was considered scandalous to Christians but perfectly sensible to Jefferson's Deistic mind. In a letter to John Adams, he wrote, "To talk of immaterial existences is to talk of nothings. To say that the human soul, angels, God, are immaterial is to say they are nothings, or that there is no God, no angels, no soul. I cannot reason otherwise" (August 15, 1820). In saying this, Jefferson was merely expressing the widely held Deistic view of his time, which rejected the mysticism of the Bible and relied on natural law and human reason to explain why the world is as it is. Writing to Adams again, Jefferson said, "And the day will come when the mystical generation of Jesus, by the supreme being as his father in the womb of a virgin, will be classed with the fable of the generation of Minerva in the brain of Jupiter" (April 11, 1823). These were hardly the words of a devout Bible-believer. |

Ray Hill knew John Coil the owner of the Carousel Motel and he and his partner would often talk about Congressman Bush taking a kid to the motel to have sex with. Then in the 1980's GHW Bush affiliated with the Franklin pedophile ring who pandered him boys to have sex with. Of course, GHW Bush had a mistress, too, a woman named Jennifer Fitzgerald who only James Baker could control. GHW Bush has had affairs with several other women, but it is with young boys that "Poppy" Bush has crossed the line into extreme depravity (when he is not murdering people). |

I heard on the radio that here in SoCal we usually have 4 or 5 days a year over 100 degrees. But in the past few years it's been over 15 days of it. And of course it's not the over-100 days but the high 90's days that surround them. In any case we had central heating and air installed last summer in preparation for the prediction provided on the radio blabber; that in 5-7 years there will be 40+ days a year over 100. Imagine how much worse it would be if global warming wasn't just a liberal hoax. |

If you have even a few days a year with unbearable heat, it would be worth having at least a small window ac available. Off season, they only cost about $100 and can cool down a bedroom at least for some relief. I've lived through days of no ac when it was really needed back when I was young. Never again. |

Gobal "warming" is a natural phenomenon, we're only just a couple of thousand years overdue. http://www.sott.net/article/203434-C...-in-five-years A leading scientist has revealed that Europe could be just five years away from the start of a new Ice Age. While climate change campaigners say global warming is the planet's biggest danger, renowned physicist Vladimir Paar says most of central Europe will soon be covered in ice. The freeze will be so complete that people will be able to walk from England to Ireland or across the North Sea from Scotland to northern Europe. Professor Paar, from Croatia's Zagreb University, has spent decades analysing previous ice ages in Europe and what caused them. "Most of Europe will be under ice, including Germany, Poland, France, Austria, Slovakia and a part of Slovenia," said the professor in an interview with the Index.hr. "Previous ice ages lasted about 70,000 years. That's a fact and the new ice age can't be avoided. "The big question is what will happen to the people of the Central European countries which will be under ice? "They might migrate to the south, or might stay, but with a huge increase in energy use," he warned. "This could happen in five, 10, 50 or 100 years, or even later. We can't predict it precisely, but it will come," he added. And the professor said that scientists think global warming is simply a natural part of the planet. "What I mean is that global warming is natural. Some 130,000 years ago the earth's temperature was the same as now, the level of CO2 was almost the same and the level of the sea was four metres higher. http://anthro.palomar.edu/homo/homo_3.htm The evolutionary surge that led to Homo habilis began during the transition between the Pliocene and Pleistocene Epochs around 2.5 million years ago when climates were becoming cooler and drier. All later species of Homo evolved during the Pleistocene (2,600,000-11,700 years ago). This was generally a time of more extreme world cooling and recurrent glaciations (ice ages). During the coldest periods, global temperatures dropped by about 9º F. (5º C.) and long-lasting ice sheets spread out from the poles and high mountains. Between the four or more major glaciations of the Pleistocene, there were interglacial warming periods with temperatures similar to now. Both the glacials and the interglacials lasted tens of thousands of years. Very likely, we are now in an interglacial that began 10,000-12,000 years ago. |

But $20 for a haircut is a steal. If there is any place here that charges that little, it's a place that you don't want to go to. The places I have gone to usually charge around $30-37 and those are good prices! Many places charge $70 and up. |

Fourteen hundred years ago Islam gave women rights; rights that could not have been imagined by European counterparts. Bold words! Women’s rights, responsibilities, and choices have been the subject of books, articles, essays, and lectures. Sadly however, convincing the world that Muslim women are not oppressed by Islam is a message that is just not getting through. Media headlines scream oppression and the words Muslim, women, and oppression seem to have become inextricably linked. No matter what Muslim women do or say to try to convince the world otherwise, words like hijab, burka, polygamy, and Sharia seem to do little but convince people that Islam oppresses women. Even educated, articulate women fulfilling the modest conditions of hijab can do little to dispel the myths. Women who conduct themselves with decorum and grace and function effortlessly in the modern world have their achievements and successes celebrated. However, if a woman wears a scarf, covers her hair or puts her religion above worldly pursuits she is immediately labelled oppressed. One wonders if this is the case for women of other religious persuasions. |
