It's been a while since I made this but I have some chicken thighs so I
might make this on Sunday. It's been years so I don't remember where I got the recipe. It called for breast, not my favourite. Sauteed Sesame Chicken 2 boneless chicken breasts, halved 2 Tbs. milk 1 Tbs. butter 1 c. chicken stock or broth 1/2 tsp. grated ginger 1/2 tsp. crushed red pepper flakes Flour 1 egg 3 Tbs. sesame seeds 1 tsp. soy sauce 1/4 tsp. sesame oil cornstarch + cold water Pound chicken to 1/4" thick. Mix egg with milk in a small bowl. Dredge chicken in flour then dip in egg mixture. Sprinkle each side with sesame seeds. Over medium heat, melt butter in peanut oil until hot. Brown chicken until golden on both sides. Add remaining ingredients. Reduce heat to low and cover and simmer 10 minutes or until chicken is tender. Remove chicken to a platter (slotted spoon) and keep warm. Increase heat to medium and stir in a mix of cornstarch & water to thicken sauce slightly. Spoon the sauce over the chicken. Jill |
