I have absolutely no idea what you two are talking about when you
discuss "bed in a bag." Is this some brit thing that has some
meaning? help me here

Gary, bed in a bag is a complete set of what goes into "making" up a bed...sheets, pillowcases and
a bedspread or comforter, all in one bag, and usually advertised around the time school
starts, to get the college dorm residents' business.
