It's not easy or cheap to bring a grey market vehicle into the US. They have to be modified and certified to US standards. Oddly enough, if the vehicle is over 25 years old, the government makes it a little easier to import. I wouldn't want to get involved with something like that though.

You're taking my post just a tenny-tiny bit too seriously. My accountant made biodiesel to run his Mercedes 300D. He was quite enthusiastic about it but he died. It was not something I'd like to get involved in.

Hee hee, I'm not sure if any car should be going into that territory. That might be going too far! OTOH, the Montero seems to be based on a mid-seventies Ford Bronco. That's pretty cool.

Let's face it, the masses are pretty stupid and will always be led around by the few that hold their chains. The kids these days aren't any dumber than we were, just less cynical and jaded. That could mean trouble - or does it?

I wonder how much the news media are to blame. One days coffee is bad
for you and the next days it's good. They publicize quacks and their
"remedies" and entertainment personalities' weird dietary regimes.
J.B. Priestley coined an excellent name for the populace: "admass".

No, they're dumber for sure (they know almost no history or context),
and distracted, and self-absorbed.

None of which bode well.

You may be right about that. I get exposed to some smart kids so I may
be biased. Perhaps I'm not cynical and jaded enough.

No need to apologize for being hopeful and positive, a very good thing
to culture and you may well inspire better than mediocrity from them by
being so.

About 15 years ago we had rented a Mercedes that was supposed to
accommodate five adults and luggage, but the car was clearly a four
seater. The rental company comped us a second car. It was a Ford
Montero, and it was a small station wagon.

It's pretty pathetic these days. People are so polarized in their
opinions and so mislead by indoctrination from the media. Look at the
reports about the percentage of Americans who believe that US forces
found WMDs in Iraq. Polls results released earlier this year indicate
that more than 40% believe they did, and most of those are Republicans.
G Dubya admitted back in 2006 that no WMDs had been found.

That is not a lack of critical thinking skills. That is just plain
retarded.

We didn't have a real shot after they were truckled into Syria.

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/...-115519-3700r/

U.S. intelligence agencies have obtained satellite photographs of truck
convoys that were at several weapons sites in Iraq in the weeks before
U.S. military operations were launched, defense officials said yesterday.

The photographs indicate that Iraq was moving arms and equipment from
its known weapons sites, said officials who spoke on the condition of
anonymity.

According to one official, the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency,
known as NGA, €œdocumented the movement of long convoys of trucks from
various areas around Baghdad to the Syrian border.€

The official said the convoys are believed to include shipments of
sensitive armaments, including equipment used in making plastic
explosives and nuclear weapons.

About 380 tons of RDX and HMX, used in making such arms, were reported
missing from the Al-Qaqaa weapons facility, though the Pentagon and an
embedded NBC News correspondent said the facility appeared to have been
emptied by the time U.S. forces got there.

The photographs bolster the claims of Pentagon official John A. Shaw,
who told The Washington Times on Wednesday that recent intelligence
reports indicate Russian special forces units took part in a
sophisticated dispersal operation from January 2003 to March 2003 to
move key weapons out of Iraq.

> Polls results released earlier this year indicate
> that more than 40% believe they did, and most of those are Republicans.

All our military leaders are "Republicans"?

Seriously?

http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontl...ws/delong.html

And this debate about weapons of mass destruction and developing all
that information, all the talk about whether the stuff existed, did that
ever cross your field of vision while you were down here, both running
Afghanistan and preparing for Iraq?

Yeah, because we saw it in Iraq. We had people on the ground in all the
different places, and we knew where the stuff was, and we also knew that
the U.N. inspectors during this period of time had to tell Saddam a week
ahead of time they were coming to place X. We watched trucks come in,
take the stuff out, go to another place as the U.N. inspectors would go
in. By this time now, this is 12 years that Saddam has been moving his
chemical weapons around. So we knew there were weapons of mass
destruction. Now, how much or what kind, [we] weren't sure.

But two days before we did go into Iraq, we watched truckloads of it go
into Syria, truckloads of it. Now, these chemical weapons, you've got
stuff here and stuff here that by themselves are not potent. You mix
them together and you put them in the nose of an artillery shell or a
bomb and you weaponize them, and it becomes a weapon. ...

You saw it how? How did you know?

With people on the ground and with technical systems. We saw it. It
wasn't a matter of speculation; we saw it happen. Now, are they ever
going to find it in Syria? Hell, no. Is there still some buried in Iraq?
Yes, there is. It wasn't too long ago we uncovered an artillery round
with sarin gas in the nose. I mean, it was old, but why was it buried?
You've got a country the size of California in square miles, and we now
find MiG-25s, the largest fighter in the world. Occasionally, our guys
with metal detectors will say, "Oh, there's something here"; we'll dig
up one of these MiG-25s that have been buried.

So you still believe --

No, this is truth. Whether they find it out or not, I don't know. But it
went to Syria; probably some went to Lebanon; and maybe some even went
from the south, went across to Iran. But we saw it go to Syria. ...

> G Dubya admitted back in 2006 that no WMDs had been found.

Because they were trucked out days before our invasion, yes.

Your car looks very cool, Ophy. Seriously. I would consider that small
one if and when I look for a new one.

Sizewise it is 'boxier' than the pic. I will try to take another pic
later for you to see.

It is the first time for years I've had such an old car, but when D got his,
I was sold. (He has the 5 door lwb) I got the chance of this swb 3 door
and I grabbed it. heh I sold my MX5 to buy this) I will never go back to
a sports car after this and I've had a lot of them over the years.

I had a Misubishi Pinin which was far newer than this one and it just rotted
away!! It was similar to the Pajaro but smaller. We have no rust on our
Pajeros, old as they are. Perhaps it doesn't rain in Japan)

Odd. I see the same pic on D's computer and it looks exactly right!!!

Ok I figured it out, it looks longer on this computer (which is not my usual
one and the resolution is different

So, I guess you are almost certainly seeing it as is)

to his own experience of seeing a UFO but was denied access by the CIA.
To this day, GHWB exercises undue influence within the CIA as he made
sure he had loyal operatives at all levels, starting at the
directorship. Then again he made sure he had damaging information on
many key individuals, all else failing he “ordered their
neutralization,” former CIA Director William Colby, being a notable
example. The official finding was suicide.

He is known, by many government insiders, to be an openingly unabashed
(doesn’t hide it among friends) pedophile, specifically referring to the
Franklin Community Credit Union scandal in the 1980s which was a major
national scandal that was covered-up by White House officials during the
time GHWB was vice president to Reagan and later.

He is also a practicing satanist by many accounts (now very popular
among the elite with their hand signs and T.V shows with satanic symbols
and themes – Beyonce, one among many); a coward (during World War II);
authorized the assassinations of democratically elected foreign leaders,
as well as American citizens – most notably Ross Perot who ran against
him as president – and used the CIA as a front for drug smuggling into
the United States using military transport aircraft and ships, a
practice that started with the Iran/Contra Scandal and later blossomed
as a major source of black operations funding outside the congressional
budget appropriations process where Congress controls the purse.

In his life-time, George H. W. Bush (GHWB) has controlled every
clandestine (hidden from view) and secret organization/operation within
the arsenal of the United States government as either 1) Director of the
CIA, 2) Vice President to Ronald Reagan (who was an unwitting puppet to
the Bush controlled cabal – GHWB secretly gave Reagan poisons that
hastened his fall into Alzheimer’s Disease and evidence suggests he
helped plan Reagan’ attempted assassination by John Hinckley, whose
family were close friends of the Bush family – a coincidence?) and 3)
ultimately as President of the United States before Bill Clinton took
office.

Not marketed here though, your best bet would be a CRV or RAV4.

People lived longer, healthier lives long ago, just look at the geneoglgy
of the Bible, now we are cancer, diabites ridden shells of what use to be
humans. All thanks to science and GMO foods. If a 10 year old kid cant
pronounce it you should be eating it.
