It was a young, nervous-looking, kid with a well worn backpack. Thank God my son wasn't with me to witness this awful enterprise happening in the next room. The first thing I do is make a cup of coffee then check out emails and rfc while enjoying the coffee. Or sometimes sit out on the back porch enjoying the early morning with coffee. Just the one cup is enough for me most times. Then I go to work 1-2 (or even 3) hours later. Everyone goes in the store to buy their morning coffee but I don't. Them: "Don't you want any coffee, Gary?" Me: "Yeah but I finished mine 2 hours ago, you slackers!" ;-D |

I too have never been inside a Starbucks... I don't call what they serve coffee, all I've heard about are coffee flavored sweet/fatty high caloric concoctions (hot milk shake/frappé). http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/frappe |

You can get straight(black )coffee too. http://www.starbucks.com/coffee/our-...avored/buy/loc http://www.starbucks.com/coffee/our-...avored/buy/loc http://www.starbucks.com/menu/drinks...?foodZone=9999 In Europe, coffee is essentially espresso – which, in America, isn’t very much coffee. To create a caffè americano – a coffee that satisfies the American preference for more sips in every cup – Europeans simply add hot water to their espresso. While the americano is similar in strength and taste to American-style brewed coffee, there are subtle differences achieved by pulling a fresh shot of espresso for the beverage base. The best way to discover these nuances, of course, is to try a cup yourself. DID YOU KNOW Whereas water is added to espresso after it’s been extracted in a caffè americano, a lungo, or long espresso, is made by passing more water through the espresso machine. |

You can get a plain cup of coffee at Starbuck's. People talk about the frappalappacappucino; there's nothing to say about a plain cuppa joe from Starbuck's (except that it's roasted too damned much).
