I've realized that I eat a LOT of cashews!
Where would have good halves and pieces lightly salted and in bulk? Like 50#. John Kuthe... |

Yeah, he'll be cashless. For anyone who enjoys cashews there's no point in buying dregs. These are the best: http://www.nutsonthenet.com/fancy-ca...ies-p-570.html |

Do you use them regularly? Are their almonds as good as those from Iberia? http://www.richardfisher.com |

Ouch! I found roasted salted (not "lightly") cashews for $8/lb for a 25lb box at nuts.com last evening. I guess I should have delineated my criteria more explicatively. I'm looking for cheap too! We haver a local nut roaster that will charge you boutique prices, if that's what you're criteria of "best" is! John Kuthe... |

But I normally don't eat that many that fast. I just love cashews, always have, and I use them in a variety of dishes I make for myself. John Kuthe... |

It's not necessary to try a large number of vendors once you've savored "the best". For me this is especially true with almonds. I've never tasted almonds anywhere that were as good as the street vendors in southern Portugal. Nothing I've had from a store (California or Spain) even come close. http://www.richardfisher.com |

For me this is especially true with almonds. I've never tasted almonds anywhere that were as good as the street vendors in southern Portugal. Nothing I've had from a store (California or Spain) even come close. I used to buy Zenobia nuts long before they were available at a web site, many years before there was a web. Mostly I bought their pistachios, but I bought their cashews too. I can't imagine anyone wanting to pig out on cashews, they are okay for a handful, then they are boring. But I can shell and consume five pounds of pistachios non stop in one sitting, that's why I stopped buying them. |

I do buy them to snack on, a couple of times a year. Small bags. I also occasionally buy a jar of dry-roasted peanuts. Cashews are very tasty but I haven't eaten one in years. One thing I miss living way down South is getting bags of mixed nuts (in the shell) in the Fall. Brazil nuts, almonds, hazelnuts. The stores down here don't seem to carry them. Jill |
