Returned from an Alaskan Trip to find a funny smell in the house. Not a good smell either. The Refrigarator had died and all was rotten ! Company coming today too ! Have been frantically leaning to get the bad food out, the appliance cleaned and the house smelling better. Ordered a new four door LG and it will be delivered on Thursday. We have an outside Fridge in the Garage, and can make do with that till we get the new one !! Could be worse.

Yep! A backup refrigerator is great when you need one.

Those three and four door models look great. Most are 36" though and we
only have 33" when it comes time for a new one. LG is the only one that
has the features we want.

Hope you enjoy yours.

Wow, that sucks. I hope the trip was fun, at least. Not a good thing
to come home to, Rosie!

LOL I have a story to tell. Anyone who minds can tune out.

I had a roach clip that was given to me. It was welded to a sheriff's
badge. What can I say? It was the '70's.

The Shelby County (Tennessee) sheriff's deputy who found it in my purse
didn't think it was amusing.

Seriously, there were no illegal drugs in my or my friends' possession.
We were just out walking around. It was just after sunset. We sat
down on a curb in an undeveloped subdivision not far from my house.
There weren't even any houses under construction on that street. It was
just paved streets and curbs.

We were just walking around, decided to sit down for a minute. The cops
came sneaking over the grassy median from the empty street behind us.
"Don't move!" Uh, we weren't thinking of moving. Thanks for scaring
the crap out of us, though!

We were just a couple of teenagers sitting on the curb. Talking and
looking at the stars. It was a lovely clear evening, that much I remember.

The deputy grabbed my purse and searched it. He found the (I thought it
was funny) roach clip. Where'd you get this? Honestly, I didn't know.
Someone gave it to me. I sure as heck don't remember 40 years later.
The deputy confiscated it.

The cops had absolutely no reason to haul me back to my house in a squad
car but they did.

I feel your pain. My refrigerator opening is 30". We'll need to
stick with a single refrigerator door, but I'm hoping for two freezer
drawers when the time comes.

Nothing better to do than take an interest in the kids of the town and try
to keep them from going astray in their lives. That was the old days.

Of all the ways one might "go astray" weed is on the bottom of the list
for toxicity, albeit it does shave off some IQ points if you do it when
you're still maturing.

Two girls, sitting on a curb on an empty street, talking?

Yeah that foreshadows vandalism, thievery and arson...NOT!

And where was the probable cause for the purse search?

Any teen girl crimes committed nearby?

My hobby was electyronic circuirterty, and to solder ICs it was
advisable to use a heat sink to avoid damaging the expensive
electyronic instrrumentation!

He confiscated it anyway.

Some cops got no common sense! I got me an iron pipe under my car seat.
Obviously, it's because of my love for the art of plumbing.

Dr. Aloha sez: You've been hanging with small, weasel-like, mammals for too long. The post was obviously a joke - or was it?

What I really got under the car seat is car fixin' stuff. I did once have a floor jack handle (which does look like a pipe) under there which did raise my wife's friend eyebrow but that's women for you. Hee hee.

He's obviously a well-prepared gent. My guess he's the kind of guy that knows exactly what to do when the cars go wrong. Those guys are handy to have around...

I had a friend who used to travel back and forth to Mexico with a very
short sawed-off .20 ga. side by side shotgun.

It can't possibly have been more than 14" long, totally illegal, and one
can only guess what the Mexican authorities would have done had they
found it.

There would have been a mordita for sure, and not such a small one is my
guess.

But he never got popped.

Do cars still have hubcaps? The last car I owned that had hubcaps was
a 1978 Cadilac Eldorado. Most late model cars I see have Alum/Mag
wheels, my 1990 Landcruiser has all aluminum wheels. I'll have to
look at cars more carefully. I keep a 3' crowbar in the cab of my
tractor, for prying up rocks... works much better than a shovel...
about two weeks ago I came across a rock that worked itself up just
enough to ping my mower blade, mostly hear them rather than see them.
Never know what size it'll be until I begin working on getting rid of
it, some are about the size of grapefruit but could be a whole lot
larger, last one was about the size of a large pig, had to weigh about
200 pounds. I couldn't lift it because there were no hand grips, so I
rolled it end over end about fifty feet into the woods.

Of course!

They've simply styled them to look like alloy wheels.

That guy might have seen too many movies or he was an experienced traveler to Mexico. Maybe both.

Sounds like it worked out for him.

Definitely both, he was a gruff but well-meaning bear of man who
confided in me, with a wink of one eye, that he made these trips to
Mejico to "party with the gals".

And he would always bring back with him a supply of rohippinol
(sp.)which iirc is the so-called date rape drug.

By his telling it makes the evening go a lot smoother, without the
sloppiness of "ludes".

I was willing to take his word on that and asked no further questions.

He never got in any real trouble stateside, so I'll leave it there.

Some people have a certain force of personality that simply acts like a
gravity wave to repel the vicissitudes of life.

He was one of those guys.

It was a joke to explain away the crow bar
