I was sure I didn't want another cat. Then the owner of a couple of cats died and Buffy needed a home. A home where she wasn't being bullied by the other resident cat, Frankie. The poor thing had to hide all the time. So I adopted Buffy. I'm sure glad I did. She's a real sweetheart. She's also very happy being an only cat. (Some people think all cats need companions. Nope, some cats really don't want a companion. Persia was the same way. No other cats!) Yes, there is always pain and loss when beloved pets die. We grieve. But giving another one a chance for a happy home... I'm glad I rethought that. Jill |

Although she says her cat was 'dumped on her', that cat would have been destroyed with her kind intervention. So those who sneer that she has a cat that was 'dumped' on her needs to think on that. She has cared for this 'dumped' cat, fed it and cared for it when she didn't have to do that. That she receives no affection in return says even more about her. Any visitors would never get that impression from them, since they either go elsewhere or sit in the background when other people are here. She's the one who comes across as disgruntled because the cat doesn't act all loving. Jill |

She gets scritches and purrs and gives my hand little kisses. She's not very fond of visitors but she does come out to investigate. I had to have the AC repaired last month (just in time not to need it!) and she was curious about the guy who was working in the attic. She had no idea there were magic stairs that descend from the ceiling in the hallway! That sort of freaked her out. She hid most of the time until he sat down to create the receipt. Then she decided she wanted to meet him. She marched right up and started winding around his legs. He said, "I don't like animals." I didn't believe him for one minute. He tried very hard not to laugh while giving her scritches around her ears and under her chin. ![]() Jill |
