An astute observation!

Animism becomes a major factor as well.

Me either but I lived in one old, apartment with no insulation and I always
feared that my pipes might freeze. The water was so very cold when it came
out and I hated to use the toilet in the winter because the seat was so
cold. I used to let the water drip, hoping that would save me from frozen
pipes.

I don't know where Moe lives but they are rarely seen in this country. I've
never actually seen one.

They're really pretty much unknown here. I've never even seen one in a
store. You can get them online and they're not cheap.

I don't think I have ever heard of one in a house but certainly they are in
some public bathrooms. Seems a tad silly to me though.

Urinals can get really bad. We had them at the golf course. I hated having
to go in there to check and make sure that nobody was lurking in there at
closing time.

I don't think anyone is sneering but seriously they are generally not used
here at all. I don't think they are common in Canada either. At least not
the parts where I've been. And no, we generally do not wash after. That's
what toilet paper is for. And if needed, flushable wet wipes.

I have a friend who lives in Malaysia and she does not have kind words to
say about those who have squat toilets and bidets in their homes. She says
they make quite the mess. Water all over.

You are that messy afterwards? *Probably does not really want to know the
answer*

I never noticed. Does he have a show on now? Can't say that I ever cared
to watch him.

I just try not to use my hands for touching stuff like meat. Was displeased
tonight when I discovered that not only had I bought ground beef patties but
that they'd wrapped them up in paper that I could only take off with my
hands. The fork just shredded it.

Ming Tsai is the one who gets me. I've seen him touch raw chicken, not wash
his hands then grab the pepper ball. Ick!

Does seem that way. She kind of took a pot shot at Americans because we
don't use bidets.

I'm sure nobody cares that you have one. But you're kind of putting the
rest of us down who don't. And that would be most people in the US.

That isn't my fault!! I simply asked why Moe was being teased about having
one and I said I had one too!!!

You need reading lessons. I simply stated that I had a bidet the same as
Moe and then sf's bitching started.

No I damned well am not messy. I do not consider wiping faeces from my anus
with toilet paper leaves it clean. You tell me how you do it! As I asked
sf before being attacked, if you got it on your hands, would you wipe it off
with paper?? No, you would damned well wash them, or I hope you would, but
if you don't, it is no skin off my nose. I don't care!!!

Now, I didn't attack anyone, or say anyone must have a bidet, I simply made
a comment when Moe was questioned about having a bidet that I had one too.
Of course sf took that as a personal slight and did her usual stunts. Was
it jealousy or her Superiority Complex cutting in again? I don't give a
damn but I am sick of it!!!

Why are you so concerned anyway about whether I have a bidet? Are you
jealous too or do you just feel like joining in the bitching at me with sf?

I don't give a damn who has one or not, but I refuse to be put on trial so
you and everyone else who feels like bitching about it can sod off.

I can't understand it, given how hygiene-conscious Americans are.
(Also, without being rude, you have such a high number of people so
seriously obese they must struggle to reach their own backsides to wipe
the TP)

Over here, lots of baby-boomer older people I know are quietly
adapting their homes for their future personal care whenever they become
infirm. Downstairs bathroom refitted with bidet and walk-in, wheelchair-
access shower, is very popular.

Well said and I see Julie referred to 'flushable wipes' - there is no
such thing.

http://www.nbcnews.com/science/scien...on-f6C10843060

It has been determined that the usual cause of these are ceramic type
sewage pipes, pre plastic, and wipes which hang up on irregularities.

I think she lives in an older house, so she better be careful what she
is flushing

Don't you remember all those jokes that circulated immediately after
the war when US tourists started invading Europe and had all these
ideas that bidets were for brushing your teeth in, birth control,
soaking feet etc ?

Maybe she taught kindergarten ?

A bidet is nothing like a urinal (or, a toilet). Nobody pees in it.

You are probably confusing "bidet" with the
combination of a squat toilet with a small rinsing hose which is used
over the floor hole. That's pretty common in Indonesia and does result
in wet foot areas.

It's not a bidet.

You have a mighty thin skin for someone who is flinging sh*t. I was
talking to Jill about urinals in a home bathroom and likened them to
bidets and toilets with the seats left up when your bitching started.

I did not see her bitching. In fact I would tend to agree with her on this
issue.

I don't care if you have one or not! But you are making it sound like those
of us who don't have one, and that would be most all of us in the US, are
unclean!

Let's start then with Stinky butt sf and Julie.
Notice the correlation too... both use canned chicken broth. lol

Most of the USAins DO have unclean butts. Ophy gave the best analogy.
If you get poo on your hands, would you wash the hands well, or just
wipe them off with a paper towel? USAins just cover up the smelly
parts with underwear and pants. Even Sheldon would turn down those
two.

Without a bidet, best to at least moisten some tp and give the bum a
quick wash.

Here's a California company which handles combi boilers -

There are a number of others.

Woe to anyone that really thinks those things are flushable.

Well, fact of the matter is your ass isn't AS clean as one washed with a
bidet no matter how you spin it, but that doesn't make you "unclean" because
you don't have one, and I don't think it was ever presented in those words
or meant to be taken that way, but in typical RFC fashion everything is
turned into an attack of some sort.

They do flush I guess but it's what happens next that matters. I am
going to raise the point at our next condo meeting because I fear some
believe what they read
