In southern California, anyway. Darn chickens had bird flu so the grocery stores I frequent only carried Lucerne egg nog, which I don't care for because it has an under taste. I wanted Altadena.

Here in chicken/egg country, we had all the usual brands from regional and
local dairies. I mix the regular stuff half and half with skim milk, so it isn't as heavy, and the taste is still there. I don't like the "lite" stuff, preferring to make my own. I am currently listening to lots of sleet pounding against the house and waiting for the accumulation of snow that is promised. Yippee! N. |

I'll probably make my own eggnog. It's better that way, since I'm watching my cholesterol. I'll make it light on the egg and heavy on the nog. |

Oberweis is an old fashioned dairy business here in St Louis MO with several small retail shops here in STL: http://www.oberweis.com/web/default.asp I use it in my Egg Nog Truffles, and then to help power the rest of my Christmas Candy making too!
