All stores sell the Heinz here which is what I bought until I discovered the HoMade and I like it far better. I did find some other brand at Big Lots. I can't remember the brand now. It was a brand I was familiar with. Just did not know that they made chili sauce. I did try it as it was cheap. But it was on par with Heinz. I looked up the brand. I see that they also make Red Pack. My MIL swears by that brand and says that it makes the best sauce. I agree but we can't get it here. They do have it on Amazon but for an insane price that I will not pay. They also make Tuttoroso. I know I have purchased that before but can't remember where I was living when I got it. And they also make Sacramento. I think we have had that brand here although I don't recall seeing it recently. My dad used to buy their tomato juice. I used the store locator and there are no stores in this area that sell those brands. But I did look up the ingredients for the Red Gold chili sauce and it contains High Fructose corn syrup. So you may have it. I prefer not to consume it. Also sounds like the flavor would be like Heinz based on the ingredients. |

I should have said lamb was low in calories compared with other meats.
http://www.sparkpeople.com/food_vs_f...rsus_lamb-chop Fewer calories than beef, less saturated fat. It was a recommended protein by my doctor when I was trying to lose weight in my teens. Now, of course, there are more popular non-meat choices for high protein foods. And in my area, lamb is much harder to find. N. |

In the last 2-1/2 years, I've lost four siblings, two months ago the brother closest to me in age €” I'd been in charge of his care for 4-1/2 years. A wicked disease. psp.org. Read it and weep. And there is a very real chance that I will lose my two remaining brothers within the year. I always knew or expected that I'd bury all of them (I am last of 13) but I forgot to factor in the closeness in age of the first 10; when they started falling, it's been like dominoes. Phooey. OB food: I went to dinner with women friends tonight and brought this salad. It tastes better than the combination of ingredients would lead you to think. Cranberry Cracker Salad Recipe By: Serving Size: 10-12 1 bag # cranberries 30 soda crackers (2" squares) coarsely crushed 1 container Cool Whip (9 oz.) Cook the cranberries according to package directions; cool. In a bowl (about 1-1/2 quart capacity?), preferably clear glass, layer the ingredients in order given, in thirds, ending with Cool Whip. Cover and refrigerate at least 4 hours or overnight. Now, here's what I really did: I used 1-1/2 cans (a half can for each layer) Ocean Spray Whole Berry cranberry sauce instead of cooking fresh ones. I bought a 12 oz. carton of Cool Whip and used what I hoped was about 9 ounces worth. A little tricky putting the whipped topping on top of the soda crackers -- put on dollops of the stuff and carefully spread it together to cover, trying not to curse when you flub up and pull the soda crackers up. -- -- Barb www.barbschaller.com, last update April 2013 |

Man, I cannot imagine this. Barb must be an angel in human form. That psp.org website is a bit scary. I read Patricia Richardson's story of her father's decline, and the advice of the doctor not to yell at or nag one's afflicted relative. I am not really looking forward to old age at this point. And I hope that there is someone to look after Barb (No. 13!) should she ever need it. |

FWIW, I've never heard of Red Gold either. I see it on Amazon, but it's limited quantity and you have to buy a whole case. http://smile.amazon.com/Red-Gold-Chi...ld+chili+sauce Homade is a great chili sauce, AFAIC. -- sf |

And I hope > that there is someone to look after Barb (No. 13!) should she ever > need it. :-) When my oldest brother died 30 years ago, I had a revelation while standing and looking around at his dead spread: if things continued as they'd begun (our oldest sister was killed in a plane crash), I'd bury all of them and there'd be no one to cry at my funeral. I am nothing if not self serving. I made a conscious decision to build relationships with a couple of my nieces and their families so that Rob won't have to hire professional mourners for my funeral. It's working nicely now but we'll see if it pays off when I'm in The Home. Life is complicated. Since September of 2011, I've lost seven family members, five of them siblings. OB Food: I also brought this to last night's dinner. It tastes better than the combination of ingredients might lead you to think. Cranberry Cracker Salad Recipe By: Posted by Barb Schaller, 1-6-2016 Serving Size: 1 1# bag cranberries 30 soda crackers (2" squares) coarsely crushed 1 container Cool Whip (9 oz.) Okay, I only did that once but it was tasty! It was really less expensive to buy beef jerky at a mini-mart attached to a gas station. Woo hoo! Jill |

You don't know WTF you're talking about, NEWBIE! The last time I attempted to phone Barb was more than five years ago and it was to thank her for the jams she sent as a thank you for the vegetable peeler I sent her... we never chatted.... over some twenty years I phoned her no more than three times and very brief informational conversations, once relating to the RFC cookbook and once relating to an old poster who lives in NYC who she asked me about her health... someone claiming to be her husband answered and he was rude and hung up on me. At that time I erased Barb from my phone directory and deleted her from my PC address book... as far as I'm concerned Barb died. |

I merely said that I hadn't seen it here. You tried to insist that it was here so I looked it up. You also posted the link on Amazon. I would never pay that price for chili sauce. I also looked at the ingredients and I'm not interested. I still say that HoMade is the best. |

And yes, you kept asking about Red Gold chili sauce, insisting it was even for sale on the west coast. Ho'made, you should know. |
