Thanks, Janet. If it were only the last year..... in 2-1/2 years,
I've lost five siblings, a sister-in-law and the niece I grew up with.
Last year, four family members passed between the end of June and the
beginning of October, a mother and daughter (deaths totally unrelated)
and two of my sisters, two months apart. From 10 of us until September
2011, we are now at four. My 92-year-old brother and 86-year-old
sister are looking over their shoulders. The "hazard" of being the
youngest of the tribe. Feh.

Thanks, Nancy. I've told people that I always figured I'd bury all of
them. The first 10 are all less than two years apart. I forgot to
factor that in -- that when that bunch got particularly elderly, their
death would likely come in something of a rush. But, jeebers, TWICE
have two sibs died close together -- Dan's and Bill's deaths were 11
weeks apart. Feh. It stinks.

It's too much to take in, one after another.

A few weeks ago I was upset to see that my ex passed away. His father
died the previous year, but he was 90. So why wouldn't I think my
former husband would at least last until he got social security.
Then I read in the obit, his brother died in August. Two siblings
gone within four months. What a blow. Both in their early 60s.

Hardly time to absorb one loss, then you're hit with another. I
hope things get better for you. Sending all good thoughts your way.

Celebrate the long time you had together, not given to us all. I lost
my brother when I was 15 and both parents were gone before I was 30.
Thankfully my mothers baby sister (she was one of 16) took the place
of an older sister for me but now she is on the brink.

It's rotten when they go and worse yet if it's around Xmas time -
you'll get through, we always do, there isn't an alternative. My
sympathies.

Thanks. I am no stranger to death. I've buried 23 family members,
starting with my dad when I was six years old. We are not a close knit
family, but dang, it makes a body weary when there are so many so close
together. Phooey.

Nah. Just a very large family (I'm youngest of my siblings and I) and
it began in 1951 when my dad died. :-)
