![]() Bryan if a simple, delicious and timeless shrimp dip recipe offends your delicate sensibilities, these will really trip your trigger: Jezebel Sauce (make three days before using) Purée thoroughly: 12 oz. apricot preserves 8 oz. apple jelly 5 oz. horseradish (not horseradish sauce) 2 oz. Spice Island (or other brand) hot dry mustard 1 tsp. white pepper Chill in glass jar or glass container, for 3 days before using. It will last for several weeks. To serve, pour over an 8 oz. brick of cream cheese. Serve with Triscuits, party bread rounds, or any sturdy cracker. Monterey Jack Crisps From 1 pound block of Monterey Jack cheese, prepare 1 1/2 inch rounds from 1/4 inch thick slices. Lay cheese rounds out 3 inches apart on baking sheet. I use parchment on the sheet; cheese is oily. The crisps spread out during baking. Sprinkle rounds with cayenne pepper or chili powder. The rounds will bake with a lacy effect where the spice powder is. Bake at 400 degrees for 10 minutes or until golden brown. Do not over bake. Cool on paper towels and store in airtight container. Makes 36 to 42 crisps. N. |
