I don't know why popcorn and milk would be strange in a food group, or
crackers and milk, but childfree is IMO.

Maybe people who are looking for some kindness after an ordeal? This would
not be the newsgroup for it to be sure, but I imagine that's why. She's
probably not up to running a footrace, but seems reasonable to post if she
feels up to it. Why is it a problem?

Why? When I was ill recently I had my computer next to me in bed and when I
was awake, it took my mind off the way I was feeling.

Theoretically, yes.

Oddly, that's what I thought family members were for...

This would be like placing amn open wound in a Piranha tank.

For the simple fact that she's back to feeding her abuser, Sqwerty,
whose hideous tormenting of her continued even as she was under the knife.

Was I the only one to catch that?

And more and more parents are getting away from those crappy, sugared,
expensive cereals, so many like General Mills, Kellogg's etc. are hurting.

There is that, sot of a compulsive 'feed all the pigeons' thing?

Except...she will pick and choose a bit more than you might have noticed.

Much of what I say to her, though in her best interests, she will take a
wide berth around.

Yet chronic abuse from Wertz, that she sadly returns to like a dog to
it's vomit.

Pardon the graphic analogy, but it is apt.

Actually popped corn is not unhealthful... depending how prepared
popped corn can be a very healthful food... that horrid nuked popcorn
will shorten your life, plus it literally stinks, but air popped corn
is very healthful, it's a whole grain food with nothing added. I
prepare a huge batch in my Wearever Popcorn Pumper at least once a
week, I fill a 24 cup bowl, drizzle with about three Tbls of melted
real butter and sprinkle with a couple three pinches salt... no pop
corn is better... well okay, I used to love Cracker Jacks but they
changed the recipe, doubled the price, halved the box size, and
eliminated the good toys... a large box used to cost a nickle, and I
still use a little plastic magnifier from more than 65 years ago. Oh,
and Cracker Jacks used to contain a generous amount of peanuts, an
excellent source of protein... last time I bought a box, some ten
years ago, not one peanut... and the toy was a stupid bit of paper no
better than from a Chinese fortune cookie. I don't know how Cracker
Jacks stays in business. I can buy a two pound bag of generic popping
corn for less than a dollar, look for it in the produce section.

I prefer puffed rice and puffed wheat... whole grain with nothing
added... years ago advertized on TV by Gabby Hayes

Shredded Wheat has no sugar, no salt, no cholesterol. It is made with
wheat and nothing but wheat.

And then there is this video.... which shows some sort of garbage
processing accompanied by a narration about the production of Shredded
Wheat.

I am not supposed to stay in bed. I have to get up every hour and walk
around a little to prevent blood clots.

I'm not in the hospital. I'm at home. And not supposed to remain in bed.

I am stuck at home and can't do much. I did manage to make dinner for two
of us and place an online grocery order because even though I thought there
was plenty of food, they ate up all of some things like eggs. *sigh* I am
supposed to get plenty of rest and remain upright as much as possible due to
where the incision is. And although I am not to exercise, I have to get up
and walk around every hour.

I also took my first Levothyroxine pill today and it rocketed into me like I
was going hyperthyroid. So... I feel all speeded up and sleep isn't an
option. I am going to try to lie down for a little while because it's
easier to put an ice pack on that way but I think I am getting to where I
don't need them any more.

Some are in my KF and those two have been. I do clean it out from time to
time. If I think a person has said something wrong or has made an on topic
post or remark, I will usually reply.

You obviously didn't read the post, I said Corn Pop cereal was a lot more
unhealthy than popcorn eaten for breakfast. I have 2 TBS of popcorn, popped
dry in a frying pan a couple of times a week. It's a good snack.

Oh, OK, I was wondering since they tried that snack tax here in CA a few
years ago, but couldn't decide what was good or bad, so dropped it. I
suppose it's coming though.

Our politicos have picked up on a discussion in Mexico and are now talking
about the possibility of having a tax here to combat high obesity levels
particularly in children

"A sugar tax and cutting buy-one-get-one-free deals are part of Public
Health England's "key actions" to tackle people's addiction to sugar.
Their long-awaited report says the nation is "eating too much sugar" leading
to health problems and obesity.

Young people's shopping baskets seem to be full of processed foods these
days. I suppose instant 'everything' is a lot to do with the problem

LOL, sounds like your politicians are close to ours, pick out a *worthy*
cause to tax, it's always for the children or for your own good, but really
it's more money for us.
