That sounds dirt cheap, Jill, for a house on a golf course. Is that the value of your house or is that your sell cheap price? > You can sit down and shut the hell up now. Yes, I certainly can. I'm very sorry for that rant. This is one that I should have saved in "draft" and read it again before I decided to post. I wouldn't have sent it. It started out just being mad at them for ripping you off with this crappy food requirement. Then it morphed into yelling at you for staying there and allowing them to rip you off. Compounded with my own series of bad events lately, I suspect I added my own frustrations into your situation. I'll skip my situation but there are 4-5 bad stressful things hitting me all at once lately. Morton was right with their slogan, "When it rains, it pours." I suspect my frustrations carried into your thing. Again, I'm sorry for all that. You didn't deserve it. For all I know, staying in your place could even be your last tie to your mom&dad as that's the last place they lived. Anyway, if you're happy there, that's all that matters. aw, dammit. ;-0 |

Someone has to pay for the person to box up the food, ya know. ![]() Actually, I don't mind the service charge which is in place of a gratuity/tip. Before they implemented it they left the "tip" up to the members. I am friendly with one of the women who works there. She confided most of the "fat cats" never bothered to tip. These folks are still working for $2.13 an hour fer cryin' out loud. >>> I love you but I think you're an idiot for staying there. Keep in mind, aside from routine/necessary maintenance nothing has ever been done to "upgrade". The roof was replaced about 10 years ago. You can't ask top dollar when you know the buyer is likely going to gut the place and start over. Don't you watch House Hunters?! It would cost someone at the *very least* $20,000 to upgrade the kitchen. More likely upwards of $30,000. Unless I just happened to luck into someone who is just dying to have one of these in their kitchen: http://tinyurl.com/hneuzey > I'll skip my situation but there are 4-5 bad stressful things hitting > me all at once lately. You stated that quite succinctly. ![]() why some people think I would want to live in an area where there are tons of people my own age. I'm a solitary person by nature. I don't want (much less need) to hang out with my neighbors. Security is the key thing and that's exactly what my mother wanted for me. I had to laugh when one of my brothers showed up (this was when Mom was still alive). We got a call from the gate: there's someone named McQuown here to see you, should we let him in? I was *very* tempted to say, "No thanks, there are enough McQuown's here already!" I'm well aware of the housing market on Dataw. I know the house next to mine was on the market for over 5 years before it finally sold... at a greatly reduced price. That house had all the bells and whistles! A gorgeous kitchen with new appliances, built-in wine racks. Hardwood floors throughout. That does *not* describe my house. The neighbor I used to cat-sit for has had hers on the market for the last 5 years. (I think it's over-priced.) http://www.zillow.com/homedetails/44...68771890_zpid/ Jill |

Then it just struck me: You got the house for free (more or less). You have to pay $2000 per YEAR for the food thing. That's less than two monthly mortgage payments on any kind of reasonable house. Plus, you get the food, even if it's not always what you want at that moment. You've got a bargain. Enjoy. Cindy Hamilton |

In-N-Out uses potatoes, salt and cottonseed oil. Same with Five Guys as they just use potatoes, salt and refined peanut oil. |

Typically a deboned stuffed chicken wing is a Vietnamese specialty. Lotsa hand labor. http://www.vietnamese-recipes.com/vi...cken-wings.php ngredients : Serves 4 12 15 g 1 tablespoon 1/2 2 cloves 1 tablespoon 1 tablespoon 50 g 100 g 1 tablespoon 2 125 g 1/2 cup 1 sprig Large chicken wings Rice vermicelli Groundnut oil Spring onion (scallions) Garlic, crushed and finely chopped Lemon grass, finely chopped Vietnamese fish sauce Pork, finely minced Water chestnuts, chopped Coriander leaves, finely chopped Dried black fungus, softened in hot water and finely chopped Raw shrimps, peeled, deveined and finely chopped Vegetable oil, for deep frying Mint leaves Method : Cut the thick sections from the chicken wings, leaving the middle section and wingtip whole. To bone the wings, twist the middle joint to break it. Then, holding the bone in your left hand, carefully scrape the meat away from it, without breaking the skin, and pull out the bones. This is easier than it sounds but it is time consuming, If you have a good butcher and give him some notice, he will be able to do it for you. |

I guess we are all entitled to our strange tastes. I like Franks and other other sauces on a lot of things, but deep fried Buffalo wings were always a special treat. They had the natural goodness of everything deep fried. Then there is the nice, crispy skin and the tasty wing meat, enhanced by natural chicken fat. The other good part is washing them down with a beer or three.. |

When I see average U.S real estate prices, it never ceases to amaze me how cheap they are. But look at how many properties are unoccupied over there. Very different situation to here. That said, and allowing for the conversion rate, a house like that in Tasmania would sell for around that same price. But certainly NOT on the mainland. In Sydney it'd be around 3-4 times that price. My grandmother's very humble 3 bdr bungalow in Sydney is now worth close to $850000. |
