I bought a container of it on my way out as someone asked me to pick her up
some dinner. I only tried a bite of it as I had baked beans for breakfast and didn't want bean overload. It was really good! Was it worth $3.99? Probably not. |

Why would I handle it? We won't eat it. I even bought the rotisserie chicken off the bone and had to toss it as my husband hated it. We are just not chicken people. I will eat canned and the Schwans crispy strips although I am getting rather burned out on those. Any other kind of chicken is not pleasant to me. |

I can't remember the last time I cooked it. Angela has gone off of it except occasionally for the Mexican kind of shredded stuff. And my husband was eating Cheezit chicken but he didn't want it the last time that I made it. I've never liked it myself and it certainly never was my husband's favorite food. Yes, I did do the plain chicken breasts with no bones because that was about the only kind of meat that Angela would eat. You couldn't pay her to eat it now. She isn't eating much meat at all these days. Husband has always preferred beef. > > This is just more unrefutable proof that your whole damned family is > demented. You don't know WTF you dislike until somebody suggests it. Nonsense. Seems like for many people here, every day in their house is just like all the others. It's not that way here. We get burned out on stuff and we change what we like. That doesn't make us demented. |

In fact I nearly starved to death following an illness as a teen. I went into anorexia but not for the usual reasons. I had been ill for so long that I became fearful of any and all food. I felt hungry but was too afraid to eat because I couldn't bear the pain of throwing up yet again. Never really occurred to me at that point that by not eating, I could die. I think my brain was shutting down at that point. I had just gone back to school and in biology class, we had to take our vital signs. I called the teacher over when I couldn't get a pulse and my BP registered something like 10/0. The only thing I had consumed that day was black coffee and Tab (diet cola). I refused to take in anything with calories. I knew how to take a pulse and BP as we had a cuff at home. The teacher joked that I should be dead. But then I passed out. He had someone put me in his wheeled chair and take me out for air. Then he called my mom and told her to take me to the hospital which was just across the street. She did not take me there. Instead, she took me to the Dr. That's just what people seemed to do in those days. The Dr. said if I was unable to eat and keep food down within 24 hours, I would be admitted to the hospital. At that point I was down to 85 pounds which is not enough for someone who is 5' 7". I know I have told this story before and I get sick of telling it. Don't tell me that I was never starving. I was. And not because I was poor. I can also easily skip meals although that's not good for my blood sugar. I have been having a terrible time after having my thyroid out. I rarely had an appetite prior and now it has gotten worse. But one thing you will never catch a truly picky eater do is eat something they can't stand. That just does not happen. |

I am one of those people who would feed a pet before I fed myself if it came down to it. I chose to take in those pets and I promised to take care of them. And > you > called the teacher over? LMAO, your most ridiculous story yet. I have told the story before. It did happen. It wasn't funny. Point being, that I *could* actually starve myself. I *did* do it. There is nothing to laugh about. Being as sick as I was for as long as I was, was no joy. My mom took me to the Dr. repeatedly. He could not find the cause but I could not keep any food in me no matter what med he gave me. Then when I finally did start to get better, I just plain did not want to eat. I wouldn't expect anyone to know how it would feel to be unable to eat anything for weeks because it would not stay in them. I also would not wish that on anyone. You are a very pathetic person. Laughing at other's misery. |

You were starving from a mental disorder, not for lack of availability of food. It was your choice to starve. I now someone else that did that and he has been on medication for the past 45 years. Put that picky eater in Syria and see what happens. |

I certainly did not. I had been seeing the Dr. all the while because I was so ill. He did prescribe something. I don't remember what. He had prescribed all sorts of things. Pills, liquids and suppositories. None of which seemed to help. I don't remember all of the particulars. I was just a teen then and I'm 56 now. He was also one of those types of old fashioned Drs. who had liked to dumb things down for people and my parents were all for getting the dumbed down version. I was also underweight to start with and had reactive hypoglycemia along with some other problems. I have never been particularly healthy. |

And what is truly pathetic, is your inability to grasp the concept of true hunger that people face in the absence of food, which you continue to confuse with whatever mental illness you had at the time. That you *could* starve yourself as an anorexic, as a choice, has no bearing. After all, you didn't actually starve yourself to death now, did you, because you are still here to regale us with your tale of woe. -- jinx the minx |

After all, > you didn't actually starve yourself to death now, did you, because you are > still here to regale us with your tale of woe. That is not what I said. I said I could not find a pulse. I actually said I couldn't "get" a pulse. I know how you are and if I don't say it exactly right, you will pick hairs. I called the teacher over because I thought somehow I was doing something wrong. He came over, got pretty much the same, joked that I should be dead and all I remember after that was opening my eyes and saying, "Mr. Cook! What are you doing in my bedroom?" I do remember feeling very sleepy and relaxed and thought I was home in bed. Nope. I had fallen against this guy that I had a crush on, knocking him into the counter on my way down where I landed on the hard tile floor. I also never said that I starved myself to death. How could anyone say that? Do you think they access a computer in the afterlife? I just get sick of people saying that stupid thing about how others would eat _____ if they were starving. They can only speak for themselves. They might eat _____. Doesn't mean others will. Especially picky eaters. I also get sick of people saying that I was never starving. I was. As a matter of fact, most people who have diabetes like I do were essentially starving upon diagnosis. Of course there are exceptions. But when blood sugar goes high, the blood cells (to dumb it down) get coated with sugar so nutrients can't get in. They could be eating food but it wouldn't be doing them much good because that fuel couldn't get to where it needed to go. |

Why do people always say this? People who say > this are obviously not picky eaters. We'd starve before eating what > we don't like. "Hunger" _is_ the 'spice' of Life! If a person is truly and literally starving, then they will eat anything, including live insects (think roaches, locusts & such) and worse. Of course, if bove were to truly suffer like survivors of The Holocaust and Vietnam POWs, then the woman would learn -- and believe/know -- otherwise! Cheri said that was never starving. I know I have told this story before. Maybe not here but on another newsgroup where she posts. It just kind of makes me angry when people try to tell me that something didn't happen when I know that it did. > > Put that picky eater in Syria and see what happens. They'll starve. I don't think you are a picky eater. I think that I am one. However, there are a ton of picky eaters in the FB group I belong to who wouldn't consider me to be one because I eat far more foods than they do. I won't go into all of what some of those poor people go through on a daily basis. It is a closed group and they are speaking in confidence. But I can assure you that they would not eat that which they do not like. |

But there is a huge difference in not being able/wanting to eat due to sickness etc. and actual starvation when one is healthy and the lack of food is the sole reason that one is failing and dying. That has never happened to you and as I said, hopefully none of us are ever subjected to that. Cheri |

You weren't starving due to lack of food being available so you have no idea of what true starvation entails, so the whole conversation has become a dead end at this point. Cheri |
