Not that they are more susceptible to cow-doody toxins, but there have
been some weird labelling issues I've run across. For one, I inadvertently bought some diced tomatoes "in tomato sauce". Think about that fer a second. Not tomato juice, but tomato "sauce". I now have both. Quite a difference! You do not want tomato "sauce" unless yer making a red suace (if then). Also, I recently bought a large can of "crushed" tomatoes. Usta be, they were merely a very coarse "crush". Now, they are more like "puree" than "crush". You do not want "crushed" tomatoes in yer minestrone, trust me. (these are all Kroger brands) nb |

How can I buy something else? |

(these are all Kroger brands) I generally get "petite diced" packed in juice for soups. Cindy Hamilton |

My home-canned are pretty good. I can hit them with a blender if I need to. -- -- Barb www.barbschaller.com, last update April 2013 |

I like the extra sauciness from the diced with the extra juice. It enriches the dish. I'm sure it makes a difference in the product by which brand or non-brand you get. Janet US |
