Default Found the fingerlings!

They must just now be coming into season. I had found this recipe a few
days ago and wanted to make it but hadn't seen any. Went to Haggen today
mainly to drop stuff off for the food bank (not food but HBA items) but also
to pick up some bread and a few other things. And what did they have just
inside the door? Yep! I couldn't remember how many jalapenos to buy so I
picked up 6. I do want to make black bean soup as well so I'll just save
the rest for that. Oh! Here's the recipe.

A total waste of fingerling potatoes... if you're going to slice them
up you may as well slice up any ordinary spud... and save some money.
I don't think hot peppers go well with potatoes anyway.

There is a similar Rx on the bags of fingerlings sold in my area, but
without the peppers. They are delicious, a bit like French Fries but with a
known amount of fat and a lot less fuss. The unique shape of the potatoes
and the skin to "raw" ratio makes this feasible. I think they're great.

Is it any wonder you have so much stomach trouble...eating all those jalapeno's would surely irritate the stomach's lining.
I wouldn't doubt that most of your problems are self inflicted.

What kind of wimp can't handle a few jalapenos? Do you also cut the
crust off your bread?

Stick your jalapenos up your nose "arguebot".

That could be uncomfortable. You have a point there.

Sounds like a winner. I'd just use sliced jalapenos in a jar though.

Those are pickled, which might be good, but different
from the intent of the recipe.

I thought about you last summer when I grew some
chiles whose variety was called "Gochujang". Sadly,
there wasn't much to them, but that might have
been due to the growing conditions.

Most of the jalapenos around here are sliced and pickled. The stuff
that's served in Korean restaurants is probably the fresh stuff though.

Those chilies were cheating because they stuck a name on them with a
build-in audience!

I made some kalbi the other day for a party. I was trying for years to
get my late mother-in-law's recipe but my wife never did got that one
going. I don't know why not but dang if it wasn't a pretty good ringer.
Now that I got the sauce down, I can work on my butterflying technique.
Boy, my mother-in-law could cut some wonderful ribs!

I rarely eat jalapenos and I have no stomach lining irritation.

Roy's permanently irritated, whether he eats jalapenos or not.

This is one thing that I actually prefer fresh. Looks like I won't be
making that tomorrow after all. Just the taco pizza and if husband wants to
eat, he can eat that! Angela is staying with a friend and due to a nasty
storm, I opted to leave the house later today that I wanted to. We did
escape the storm but didn't get home in time to make the pizza.

Really? Then what is the source of all your digestive issues? Never
mind, I really don't care.

It's a combination of things Jill. I'll say this one again. Gastroparesis.
Paralysis to the stomach muscles. That's one. Food intolerances is
another. More recently? We don't know. Could have been a virus. You
never heard me complaining here of stomach lining irritation but Angela had
that from some med she was on. It was called gastritis.
