Jill. I know you do not particularly like sugar, sweet tea, cornbread w/
sugar, etc. You may be a real pioneer on the food/health front: http://sugarcoateddoc.com/ I watched this film, this morning. Pretty scary. Basically, it's saying sugar, not fat, is the bad guy and the sugar industry has been using cigarette industry tactics (lie like a rug!) to save itself and its enormous profits. It says we've been stuffing ourselves with sugar based calories much like duck/geese are force-fed to make foi gras and ending up with the same affliction, which is "fatty liver disease" (FLD). You know it's bad when it already has its own acronym. ![]() nb |

Yep. I have no problems with sugar. Not that I eat or use much of it. I don't. HFCS is everywhere. Even in stuff that wouldn't normally have any sweetening. |

Not sure what the implied connection between fat and sugar is. >and the sugar industry has been >using cigarette industry tactics (lie like a rug!) to save itself and >its enormous profits. I thought this was well established 35-40 years ago? The facts about sugar has been around a very long time. |

The evils of sugar are not exactly breaking news-worthy...it has been a target, very publicly,

Apparently Bob missed the past thirty years of cautionary tv programs regarding the growing diabetes problem in industrialized nations. Maybe if he stopped eating and put his ears on...................? |

But why would one trust them to begin with? |

Well the problem with sugars have been well known in Australia (and most of the rest of the world) at least for decades. I'm a little surprised we're having this discussion. |
