I jes scored a West Bend Poppery II(2) hot-air popcorn popper. Yay!
Yeah ....paid $4.30. Looks brand new. I figure it's the last of the West Bend Poppery II's, as it has no butter warming reservoir, it's only 1200W, and the cover/chute is clear plastic instead of yellow. Why do I believe it's the last of the WB Poppery's? It's "Made in America"! Anywho ....I don't wanna roast coffee in it, like I've done in so many other Poppery's. I actually wanna pop popcorn in it! Anyone know how you use one of these things to do what they were intended for? I certainly don't. ![]() nb |

And one man and only one man has even spoken of it, let alone offered to solve it. https://www.donaldjtrump.com/positio...a-trade-reform How We Got He Washington Politicians Let China Off The Hook In January 2000, President Bill Clinton boldly promised Chinas inclusion in the World Trade Organization (WTO) is a good deal for America. Our products will gain better access to Chinas market, and every sector from agriculture, to telecommunications, to automobiles. But China gains no new market access to the United States. None of what President Clinton promised came true. Since China joined the WTO, Americans have witnessed the closure of more than 50,000 factories and the loss of tens of millions of jobs. It was not a good deal for America then and its a bad deal now. It is a typical example of how politicians in Washington have failed our country. The most important component of our China policy is leadership and strength at the negotiating table. We have been too afraid to protect and advance American interests and to challenge China to live up to its obligations. We need smart negotiators who will serve the interests of American workers not Wall Street insiders that want to move U.S. manufacturing and investment offshore. The Goal Of The Trump Plan: Fighting For American Businesses And Workers America has always been a trading nation. Under the Trump administration trade will flourish. However, for free trade to bring prosperity to America, it must also be fair trade. Our goal is not protectionism but accountability. America fully opened its markets to China but China has not reciprocated. Its Great Wall of Protectionism uses unlawful tariff and non-tariff barriers to keep American companies out of China and to tilt the playing field in their favor. If you give American workers a level playing field, they will win. At its heart, this plan is a negotiating strategy to bring fairness to our trade with China. The results will be huge for American businesses and workers. Jobs and factories will stop moving offshore and instead stay here at home. The economy will boom. The steps outlined in this plan will make that a reality. When Donald J. Trump is president, China will be on notice that America is back in the global leadership business and that their days of currency manipulation and cheating are over. We will cut a better deal with China that helps American businesses and workers compete. The Trump Plan Will Achieve The Following Goals: Bring China to the bargaining table by immediately declaring it a currency manipulator. Protect American ingenuity and investment by forcing China to uphold intellectual property laws and stop their unfair and unlawful practice of forcing U.S. companies to share proprietary technology with Chinese competitors as a condition of entry to Chinas market. Reclaim millions of American jobs and reviving American manufacturing by putting an end to Chinas illegal export subsidies and lax labor and environmental standards. No more sweatshops or pollution havens stealing jobs from American workers. Strengthen our negotiating position by lowering our corporate tax rate to keep American companies and jobs here at home, attacking our debt and deficit so China cannot use financial blackmail against us, and bolstering the U.S. military presence in the East and South China Seas to discourage Chinese adventurism. > I bought some USA made washcloths the other day. Had to mail order them, and I LOVE THEM!! Big, > THICK and will probably last years!! I am not a big air popper fan as the stray kernels always scatter over the kitchen floor and become annoyances. Having used Poppery's in the past to roast coffee, I wasn't sure about the amt of un-popped kernels to add. According to the video, one quarter cup is the recommended amt, same as fer coffee. I usta have 3 original WB Poppery's, one "new in box" (NIB). I roasted my own coffee in 'em fer years. Finally sold 'em on ebay when I moved to CO. Got almost $70 fer the NIB Poppery. Those original Poppery's were 1500W. This Poppery 2 is all black and only 1200W. I've discovered popcorn to be my most effective fiber, but too much of it is GMO popcorn. So, I buy organic popcorn and needed a way to pop it. I tried Alton Brown's method of popping corn ina SS mixing bowl, with oil, but it didn't work so good. Now I got the real deal, an "air bed" popper requiring zero fats/oils. Makes fer flavorless popcorn, but at least there is no chemical crude in it. ![]() Again, thank you, nb |

I bought a 12-pak of white washclothes a couple of weeks ago from Target. 100% cotton and very nicely thick for only $3.99. Not made in USA. These were made in Pakistan. Do you have a problem with that country too? |

Lawn Boy 2-cycle my daddy had was rugged, lemme tell ya!! Almost all METAL built, and Made In USA! Aw, hell, John. Half my John Deere is plastic. I like the plastic fenders, hood, and seat: rustproof. Of course, all of the structural elements are metal. Cindy Hamilton |

You might be a little too young to remember the mid-60's. Back then everything that was made in Japan was considered as cheap Japanese junk. And many of their products *were* cheap and junk too. Well...while we were laughing at them, they persevered and slowly improved all their products. Eventually they took over the world economy with electronics and cars. They got the last laugh. They put the USAians out of business in several markets. If you want to buy a made in USA washcloth for $4.00 each, knock yourself out. I plan to run to Target this weekend and buy a couple more packs of those washcloths for dirt cheap. And they are good quality thick ones. Anyway, my price quote was a bit off. Since I wrote about it I found my receipt from May 1. It's a 8-pack of washcloths for $3.49. You willingly pay $4.00 for one USA washcloth. I paid 44 cents for a great quality one (in a pack of 8). Not Chinese though...this is from Pakistan. It's a world economy these days. USAins can't compete in certain manufacturing fields any more. USAins need to get over themselves and train to do something else. Unions were good back in the day but they are not so good anymore, imo. |

And that's fine that my landlord spends his money on cheap Chinese JUNK!! He IS Chinese!! So he's just sending his U.S. money back to his home nation China! And so far with my modifications to keep this cheap Chinese JUNK electric lawn mower working, it's still working after about a year of use. First thing that failed was what I pegged immediately, the cheap plastic "dead man's" on-off switch in the handle!! I fixed it by eliminating the switch entirely, and wired the mower's AC plug directly to it's electric motor so now I turn it on my plugging it in! OHHA would have a cow, but hey it's works!!
