I deleted Flash from this computer a few days ago because I'd read
that it's not used as much anymore... but this is the second time
today that a website has told me to install Flash. <sigh>

Are they called Diamondback because their coloring resembles the
snake's?

It's kind of a stretch if you're looking for diamonds too...

Did the BBC ask you to install Flash?

I have no idea! I only know what they announced on the news and on that
website! I need to watch out for more.

I went to that website and the message to install Flash was
superimposed over the video, so I didn't see it.

Indeed. Why would anyone think it wasn't used much any more??
Adblock wouldn't be extremely popular if flash still wasn't commonly
used.

I have no clue why someone would think it wasn't used.

"If" you install Flash Player, never do it from a weblink. Install
Flash Player from adobe.com and make the specific trip to Adobe in
order to do it. From random websites, Flash Player weblinks quite
easily lead to malware infested Flash Player versions.
Here's a fun link
<http://www.zdnet.com/article/the-real-adobe-flash-fix-is-in/>, so the
warning is probably legitimate. I'm going to reinstall right now. My
wife uses it for a few game sites she visits. What can I do? Nothing.
Flash sucks but is still a big part of the interactive internet.
Here's where I'm going <https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/>,
