I cooked some pork chops for dinner. These are what I ordinarilly buy
from the market in town, no fancy name, no fancy price, from a local
farm:

What, they don't have pork chops in Scotland?

I do not see prices like that in my area.

Yeah, it's like Harris Teeter and the frozen shrimp. 16.99lb but it's
always on sale to make you 'feel good'.

Hmmm I live in Scotland <g> I did take a pic of my pork chops yesterday in
response to Sheldon and I will post it later)

Just because we have pork chops in Scotland ... why the hell should he not
post a pic of his???? I am sure much of the food posted here could be
bought in other countries. Bloody ridiculous comment!!

Ok listen up folks .... think twice about posting a pic if we can get that
food in Scotland!!!!!

I posted it specifically for you because you said you couldn't see
Ed's pork chop at that binary site and I said I'd post pictures here
next I cooked pork chops. I also often buy the family sized packages
of shoulder pork chops, they are very inexpensive, sometimes 89¢/lb. I
trim the meaty parts out, coat with seasoned flour and fry them
quickly like cutlets, they are fattier so are more tender than loin
chops. I trim out the larger sections of fat for feeding crows. The
bony parts are braised in tomato pasta sauce.

You did indeed. Thank you! I enjoyed seeing your chops and I took pics of
mine for you)

I love the big pork chops. They sell pork loin chops which I don't care
for.

These are what I cooked last night) They had been in the freezer for a
few days ...

Those chops look pretty good. I'm surprised that they're called "British Pork Chops" instead of "Pork Chops." Does that strike you as being a little funny? Sorry to hear you forgot to take a picture of your chops. If you wish, you can have mine.

Did I *say* he should not post pictures of his pork chops, WITCH!!!!???
No, I did not. I was amazed he felt it necessary to ping you to show
you pictures of pork chops.

I was more interested in the price. I live in an area where the primary
local food is fruit, vegetables and seafood. There aren't any local hog
farmers.

Why not take pride in British products?

They do have endearing quirks. Brits are the one who warn you of a
newly resurfaced road miles ahead. Warning, warning... In two miles,
pot holes, cracks and bumps in the road will temporarily disappear.
Do not panic, the normal surface will reappear in 500 feet.

Mostly, I was wondering if the "British Pork Chop" was a particular cut of pork. It's different from ours - very pretty.

Actually there are several cuts named pork chop from the loin, all
good:
http://www.askthemeatman.com/pork_loin_cuts.htm
Yours look like loin chops or sirloin chops, I like those too but
prefer them marinated:

For fying/grilling I prefer a center cut rib chop:

There are pork shoulder chops too.
