Default Dinner tonght - 6/29/16

Toasted, hollowed out Bolillo rolls, filled with grilled bratwurst,
sauteed onions, mushrooms, red and green bell peppers and shredded
mozzarella cheese. Sides will be my 5 bean salad and dessert is
sliced Tuscan melon and sliced watermelon. Beverage is iced tea with
sprigs of garden mint.
Good summer eats. Supposed to be 99F today.

Tonight I'm having rainbow trout, with kale, spinach and... not sure
what else yet.

I envy you! I love bison. There just isn't any way that I can afford
it any longer. (I bow to your heat index. The humidity is a real
game changer) Have a wonderful dinner.

Hmm, I might just do that. I do smoke trout sometimes but usually
gently cook them in butter and lemon juice.

You too Janet. I neglected to say before how good your dinner sounds!
I have some mozzarella in the fridge at the moment, but lack most of
the other ingredients. I like the idea of the hollowed out roll with
bratwurst, etc.

I'm not sure where you are again, Janet, Iowa? Anyway, we have horrible
humidity here in MD and I don't even feel like cooking. Just eating
whatever is easy, like some pistachio nuts and a few cold raw veggies.
The humidity is killing me when I have to go out. I think a combo of
menopause and the HRT that isn't figured out right yet and making things
worse, plus my body is just too weak and any energy expended causes
overheating. Ugh. I'm sorry for the TMI. Just miserable here.

I made some bison burgers once with ground bison mixed with ground beef.
I could tell the difference from just plain beef and it was a nice
surprise.

Don't you have A/C? It'a warm and humid here in upstate NY but with
my A/C set at 70ºF it's very comfy.

I sympathize with you. I grew up with that humidity in Wisconsin and
can't imagine having to live like that again. I'm in Idaho now and
currently (10 p.m.) the temp is 90F and humidity of 21% -- so quite
an improvement. The differences we noticed when we moved here -- our
faces felt like they were going to crack, we had to use lip balm all
the time and our furniture began to pull apart as the wood dried. I
hope you get some little relief from the weather. Take care. Turn on
a fan and sit in front of it.

Yes, those are the worst. I had fans everywhere even with AC.

I thoroughly recommend evening primrose oil for menopause
(Prescription-strength if you can get it there). It was a great tip I
got from the nurses at my GP practice who all used it to help them
through the menopause.

I can tell the difference too, but not a pleasant one for me. Buffalo
has a weird flavor (IMO). I don't even like beefalo. Maybe they've
changed what they're fed and they taste better now, but I'm not
interested in finding out.
