I don't see that he's written anything since you said he rolled
over that dog deliberately.

Our former neighbour ran over their dog. That one was not so lucky. She
killed it. He was getting old and must not have heard the car start up.
She was pretty broken up about it.

no, that is pretty much all episodes.

No, the one where some society lady was trying to make the moves on Doc,
he accidentally runs over her dog, wraps it up and brings it to her
during a soiree and tells her "sorry, it was an accident. I believe it
your responsibility to deal with it now."

Too much dog issues, imo.

I missed that one. I binge watched the first couple seasons but have
not seen any more of it in ages.

He accidently backed over the dog that was sleeping underneath the rear
of his car. He didn't do it on purpose. Don't read more into what he
wrote. This happens way too often in this group.

Glad to hear it.

I had to return a dog to its owner a couple nights ago. I was all set to
head out when a familiar looking dog showed up at our house. It turned
out to be Winston a collie we know from the dog park. I knew that he
lived on a farm about a mile down the road but I was not sure which one
it was. There are two with houses set way back from the road and I was
not sure which was which. I stopped at the house three doors down to ask
because he is friends Dave, with Winston's owner and Dave was there. He
was surprised to see Winston with me because the dog had been in the
house when he left.

Apparently I'm always here on RFC, just waiting to reply to anyone at
any hour of the day. And also apparently replying to people in my kill
file

Thanks Nancy, I didn't think I worded it so badly that it could be
interpreted in that way.

My friends brought Winnie home late yesterday afternoon, she's in good
shape apart from being very sore and lost a fair bit of weight. She's
laying in front of the fire right now, snoring away...

Thanks, you have to wonder if she really believed something so
outlandish or was just merely trying to get a reaction out of me.

Well, Winnie went missing from my friend's place (about 15KM from
home). Yesterday my friend had some of his family over, along with a
few of our mutual friends with their own dogs.

Apparently the dogs were outside playing and barking like they do and
a few minutes later one friend, Will, commented "When did Winnie come
back"? to which the response was "she hasn't". Will then said "well,
who is this then?' pointing at Winnie who was standing on the
verandah.

So it looks like Winnie was very slowly finding her way back and the
barking dogs was the last clue she needed. If only she could talk...
Luckily the weather has been very mild the past two weeks.

She is basically unharmed, apart from losing a fair bit of weight and
being very sore and sorry for herself. She's never going to my
friend's place again, needless to say... at least as long as my
friend's dog Zed is around. It's only when those two get together that
this happens.

Well I won't post again what he said after ....

I am now done with this thread. I have fought too hard with my rescue dogs
to give them a good life to listen to such barbarity.

I really hope nothing ever happens to his Winnie. I am pleased she is back.

Odd how a dog will do that all of a sudden, unless the dog has been up
to this caper all along and the owner never knew? I know of one Jack
Russell that likes to sneak out and back again before his owners get
home

Well I am sorry but that is how it came across and I am very pleased if you
say it was not.

I am also very happy for you that Winnie is home and safe. Enjoy all the
time you have with her.

Yes barking dogs can be annoying but it is not the dog's fault. Give the
owners shit for that.

I have no interest in getting reactions from you other than friendly, but as
someone who cares for abandoned and cruelly used dogs I am afraid I take
such flippant comments badly.

Sure, I don't see anything intentional about it. He said the dog was
asleep under the car. Happens.

I'll be generous and just say I think she sometimes has trouble with
figures of speech and metaphorical type concepts (has happened many
times before). We'll just leave it at that... tempting as it is to go
further

The "she" in this case is a bit of an idiot. You described an
unfortunate incident. She misinterpreted it and all the proof she needed
was you not denying it in time.

It does indeed. It happened to my neighbour. She ran over her own dog, a
mutt that I despised, but I tried to say something sympathetic anyway.

Just so happened he didn't like the dog. But I don't think he
intentionally tried to kill it.

Of course not. From what I can see, it was only two certain people who
thought I did. And what a remarkable coincidence who those two people
just happen to be...
