Lemon Chicken Piccata... maybe with some 'Singapore Style Noodles'
(which I need to use up). Would noodles suit this instead of rice? I'm a little unsure whether the noodles would go that well with capers. Opinions appreciated. |

Piccata should be served with noodles, not rice. If you mean rice vermicelli, then those will work but it should be wheat-based vermicelli for a dish like that. Capers and rice don't compute, Will Robinson. |

The rice salad I made had capers in it. |

I always serve chicken piccata with rice. Anyway, why shouldn't capers and rice compute? Rice is so exceedingly bland that I can't imagine anything not going with it. Of course, Jeßus might be thinking of something fancier than my usual rice, salt, and a little butter. Cindy Hamilton |

Noodles preferred for that dish in some areas but rice is very common as well. Singapore noodles are rice based generally, just shaped by processing to seem like may be wheat based. I'd use up the singapore noodles (a type of vermachelli) -- |

Capers and rice in the right dish work just fine. Expand your limited culinary experience to find out. -- |

Just rice with some butter and salt would do IMO. The noodles were great, BTW. |

Rye bread toasted and made into a sandwich with Daiya cheddar cheese, thick slices of tomato and a little margarine. Nuked till cheese sort of melts. Of course this would be way better if done in the oven or in a pan and with real cheese, but... This works for me. I somehow kept buying large slicing tomatoes thinking we had none and now we have many! Husband is going to get one of these for dinner with real cheese and if I have time, done the right way. Or failing that, a stuffed tomato! |

It was just His Pudginess posting under another nym looking for an opportunity to try to get my attention. I'm sure he's well aware capers and rice can go together. >I am having my >breakfast now. Yes, it is late. I'll say. It's breakfast time here right now ![]() I'm skipping breakfast this morning to go into town to do grocery shopping... three double cafe lattes keep me going though. In these situations I usually plan to eat whilst in town but more often than not come home hungry because nothing really appealed to me <shrug>. I'm a fussy eater in the sense that I only like real ingredients and not fast food... so that makes it difficult for me. >Rye bread toasted and made into a sandwich >with Daiya cheddar cheese, thick slices of tomato and a little margarine. >Nuked till cheese sort of melts. I'm sure there would be many recipes out there to make use of those tomatoes. |
