I can't say if this is a grown-up cheese sandwich but I'd eat one of these too. One quarter of a sandwich would be enough for me. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PYq31xLj-DY |

Second of all and this is as equally as important as my first statement: What kind of cheese did you use? I've miked cheese sandwiches before and they turn out OK. What's missing is the nice buttery crust you get from doing them in the pan. It's not much work really. btw, change your nationality from Cherman to like some guy or gal from Lichtenstein or some place. I like many cheezes but cheddar and feta are my least favorites. I can't remember when I last tasted fehta but I remember not liking its texture... I know it will seem weird but I like cubes of cheddar on a toothpic dipped in Chinese black bean sauce. I also like Ritz crackers spread with Chinese duck sauce and topped with shredded mozz. |

OOO = olive oil oppression ("dismissive of people who prefer olive oil. Very intolerant and hurtful") There's a whole demographic out there suffering from oil-based repression in our society. This must be stamped out, post haste. |

The bread is spread with butter, and then the sandwich is cooked in a frying pan until the outside is crispy, golden-brown, and delicious. It would more properly be called a "griddled cheese sandwich", but the current name has stuck. Cindy Hamilton |

In my world, that is a variation of a Cheese Dream, though they were usually cheddar and bacon. A variation would be Cheddar and leftover asparagus. Lunch today was more like your version, except two slices of whole grain. I had slices of a 3 year old cheddar, thinly sliced onion and sliced tomato. I have to say I was really disappointed with the tomato because it was quite bland. FWIW.... I did it with butter today. I can't say that it was better than olive oil. However, my more frequent version of a grilled cheese is the one with a mixture of Cheddar and Feta with sun dried tomato, and the olive oil enhances that one. |
