Really? I thought you said it must "suck" to be my husband for 52 years just
last week? LOL

This partly due to leather vendors now having the technology to split
skins to paper thinness. Those Wilson Leather stores sell jackets
that are almost useless. So thin, they tear. I still have a leather
motorcycle jacket made in the 60s. Gotta be at least 5X thicker than
today's leather laughables.

OK, maybe the Tucson is the better comparison.
According to Nissanusa.com the Rogue starts at 23,290 and 26/33 mpg
According to hyundaiusa.com the Tucson starts at 22,700 and 26/33

https://www.hyundaiusa.com/tucson/comparison.aspx

Better warranty and more available safety features.

I really liked him - I thought he did a hell of a lot to make one part
of the country think kindly about another part. They still run a
golf day here to remember him, funds to literacy.

The only 'refugee' item I have heard recently was they interviewed a
Syrian couple with son and daughter who came and now live in
Antigonish. The father had owned four chocolate making factories in
Damascus, all lost to bombs but he has started up again and is selling
chocolate things in the local farmers market and doing very well. It
was a nice story and one felt glad they had a chance at remaking their
lives. The son was studying medicine and had plenty of hands on
experience but he is forced to repeat his whole medical training again
now which is unfortunate but he doesn't seem to have let it get him
down.

I like that idea. My wife makes me lock the car door although I see no need to do so since there's no way to start the engine in modern cars. The door on my car doesn't lock most times anyway. It will trigger the alarm if the door is opened which is just as effective as locking it.

In my last house I lived with three thru the wall ACs until I realized
it would cost less to have central air. It cost very little to buy
and install the sheetmetal tubes in the walls right under the windows
(one for each bedroom), didn't disturb the windows either. I left
those units even after selling the house... may have looked strange
with three thru-wall units on the same wall with the big condensor on
the ground but it was a back wall, no one could see from the street
and I couldn't see from indoors. With todays AC options an outhouse
can easily be air conditioned. The Bove is simply too cheap, there's
no other reason.

No I am not and never was a Harperite. The alternatives were worse. I
realize it makes it easier for your little mind to pigeonhole people om
accordance with your own prejudice while you deny reality.... like your
recent claim that you have only heard one immigrant story on CBC
recently. I just went to their website and on the main page there is
an article about refugees, a very important story about them teaching
refugee children to overcome their fear of water.

So do all Australian localities. He really seems to have no clue about

No. I hate friendship bracelets.

At this point I'd write a 1000 word anecdotal essay on why, but it's

It'd be fun to see all of Julie's dislikes/hates listed all in one

In the above instances the quality of the leather is crap and doesn't
last too many years of normal use.

Cars have never been cheaper in Australia. Apparently we have the
largest range of brands/models available anywhere, which might have
something to do with it.

From all the salt put on the roads over there? Cars last much longer
than that in Aus.

Not bad. But not close to me. I can get free rides to/from the Nissan
place but not the nearest Hundai so I have to wait for hours for a mere
inspection or take a close to 50$ cab ride each way.

Thanks though!

Yeah... fact remains your house could have an air-con installed. THAT

We drove a Kia Sorento on vacation. It was impressive and
they're getting great marks for reliability, too.
