We've had a lot of cars too through the years, and I'm happy with my little
truck, I wouldn't mind a luxury car, but I wouldn't pay for it, at my age
the car would last longer than me. LOL

Actually, you're one of the worst for "crowing" about how you know
everything about everything in cooking.

The written word can easily be taken different ways as we all know, and just

Well, just a little. Of course this means that I'm kind of a failure of an
older brother. If I had a Mercedes, you can be sure that you're going to
hear about it! It would be one of the higher end models too! A feller can
dream.

Unless you employ a housekeeper who vacuums for you it's not bragging.

--------------------------

I never had a housekeeper in UK but all the years I worked I hired a
cleaner. I didn't clean or vacuum for years <g>

Does that make me a braggart?

That's good. I don't travel much anymore so none of that is important to me,
if I want style and comfort I will hit my recliner, not pay a fortune for a
car...but that's your choice.

We all have different priorities and nothing wrong with that. Just don't

That is where the nasty comes in. As we have discussed before ... who needs

Of course, there's also humblebragging. My $17.99 Mr. Coffee makes
perfectly good coffee.

Too true. That's the thing I hate the most about DH's FJ Cruiser. The
windows are friggin' tiny. I miss my '84 Honda Civic hatchback.

To the inch? I've never needed that much precision.

Situational awareness. It's not just for fighter pilots anymore.
Sadly, so few people have it.

I suppose when I'm old I'll appreciate the car doing more for me.

Actually, that's exactly how I use the trip odometer, pretty much
exclusively. As a backup to the gas gauge.

I have never hit anything - the only accidents I have had, all two of
them, a truck not concentrating ran into the back of my then new
Honda, he was in lala land and didn't connect to the fact that I was
stopped at a stop sign.

Accident #2 my neighbour ran into the front of the same car, in my
driveway at 4 a.m. - I was asleep and didn't even know it had
happened. I assume he had been drinking because he was very anxious I
get an estimate for repairs and we not go through insurance Bit
strange as he was one of those black suited efforts that go door to
door preaching.

I sold the car pronto after it was fixed, didn't fancy being in it if
accident number three was worse.

Not in my eyes - when I was working I had the most wonderful person
who just did the housework beautifully, in most cases, better than I
would have done it! I left the house, she arrived and did the work, I
never even suggested what she do, she did windows, oven - everything,

I am still trying to figure mine out. I can't change the options when it
is in gear. I like to have to average fuel consumption and trip meter
showing. I had to go in for a tire change last week and they monkeyed
with it.

You've gotta love this group....we are still nitpicking about mentioning
coffee maker brands.
When I mentioned my cute little 4-cup Mr.Coffee machine, I wasn't
bragging, I was admitting that I used a cheapo machine and expected to
get laughed at for using it. lol

Here's one for you. For about a year, I got tired of the taste of brewed
coffee and I switched to instant coffee. At the time it seemed to have
more of a "sharp" taste vs "muddy" taste of brewed. Brian teased me
about that for a long time.

Same here Actually I do very little vaccing anyway. When we retired D
took on the floors and windows. I do the rest of the cleaning and cooking.
Suits us both fine

The only floor I really have to touch is after cooking. I always sweep it
because I am quite messy)

I don't remember anyone else here mentioning the FJ Cruiser, what
color is his, mine is cream. I think it's a great car but Toyota
stopped production, too many people found them cramped for space and
they have poor visibility, and I agree but it's a very rugged vehicle
and a lot of car for the price.

My Land Cruiser has a sun roof (that's what Toyota calls it), I never
open it or the sliding shade. I can't imagine driving and looking up
day dreaming at the clouds, probably run into the rear end of a
braking semi.... I think it's a silly and useless thing. I wouldn't
want one again but I had no choice, the first year the car was out it
was included with every vehicle, wasn't an option.

On hot days normal people turn on the AC, it would be rather Boveish
driving with the open roof and the AC running.

Nonsense, there's no point in discussing pros and cons of kitchen
appliances without knowing the brand and model... it's not bragging...
most people are happy to offer a revew of their experience with
kitchen appliances. I've been very pleased with my Oster toaster so
for my next ADC I'll consider an Oster:

Brands Schmands... if anyone is in the market for kitchen appliances
here's a web site for Oster, good quality and attractive looking with
very UNpretentious prices. I've been very plased with my Oster
toaster, much better than my old and very pricy Kitchen Aid.

LOL Actually, you should believe me. See my last post to Bruce. Anyway,
since we were talking about it, I just paused with posting and I just
DID finally clean my kitchen floor. It was way overdue (2 months). It's
a small walk-through kitchen. I swept it, then got down on my hands and
knees with a damp washcloth and wiped it all down. Then I repeated the
wipe down. Took very little time and now my floor is good to go for
awhile. If I drop buttered toast on it this evening, I'll be able to
pick it up and eat it. I probably would have done that anyway.
heheheh (is he just joking?) (or is he serious?)

I'm serious. Cleaning the bathroom is so easy too but I always put that
off way too long too.

My life has gone all to hell since Mia died and I don't even care
anymore. ;-0

Now you've gone too far, sf does not think, she's not capable of
thought... she's about the most thoughtless poster here... sf
epitimizes the three nouns; Me, Myself, and I.

That's a long drive, especially if you aren't used to it.
That's what a one-way trip to see my parent entails.
I plan to do this soon. I'm not used to driving long-distance
at all but it should be an adventure to me.

I also plan to take a detour on the way to see the old neighborhood
where I grew up for many years. And see my old house. This is in the
Washington DC suburbs. My parents now live way west in the mountains of
Maryland. I never lived there but that's where Mom(tm) grew up.

I'm sure it does, I have an $18.99 Black & Decker that makes very good
coffee.... only reason I don't use it is it's an 8 cupper, but I keep
it as a back up. Most any coffee maker will brew good coffee if you
use good water.
