If I picked them all they would cover the counters. Maybe I just
have a good spot. I've eaten 15 already and I haven't checked in
days. Still has flowers, but it will stop producing soon.

That's a lot. I grow 3 ... one cherry and two other kinds.
I can't keep up with all of those once they start.

Nothing wrong with a green tomato, but I usually let them sit
until they turn red.

Bummer. Maybe there's a community garden you could join, but you're
probably not that interested.

No, we still have mainly Mexican ones here but I would think another
month and they will be very plentiful. My supermarket highlights
local produce but for that I might take a trip up the valley where
it's all grown. There's a nice vineyard tour there also I hear and I
have several non-drinking pals, so they can do the driving

I do something you're not supposed to do, I grow them in the same
spot on the side of the garage. So far they seem quite happy there.

Also I start them inside, you're supposed to sow them outside
but I don't. I grow a handful of plants and save the hardiest
looking one.

hmmm...in your greenhouses? Do you keep it open to let in bees and other
insects to pollinate those flowers? If not, you can do it yourself using
a very soft artist brush. I've done that and it works.

I just picked another 12 cucumbers off my plant. They're
overgrown since we haven't been picking them as we have too
many already.

Definitely depends on conditions and variety.

Yes and he'd enjoy the Honduran coke, too.

15 sounds about right. Although I don't think I got that many last
summer, but then I did plant them a bit late. How good is fresh picked
cucumber in a salad...

I'm looking forward to spring this year, I've done a lot of soil
preparation in the past 18 months and now the soil is incredible...
the garden bed is weed free and mulched, ready to go. I plan to grow a
lot of pumpkins and cucumbers this year and less tomatoes. Lots of
peas and beans this time too.

Currently there is only kale, spinach, rainbow chard, garlic, broad
beans and green manure crop in the garden as we are still in winter
here.

Gary, I guess you've never grown cukes. It doesn't take many plants for
them to be very prolific. My dad had a garden that was much smaller
than Sheldon's. He wound up with more cucumbers than anyone in the
neighborhood wanted.

Sadly, he's obsessed with talking on the phone. I don't mind an
occasional "how are you doing?" phone call. A couple of times a year.
That's about it.
