Default smelly canola oil

If canola oil smells like linseed oil and you cooked a banana cake with
it would it taste different?

I think all canola oil stinks when heated and so do a lot of other people.

Did not taste all that rancid but did not like the cake,so old fashioned
butter from now on.
Just made one with butter,much better.
