Default Dinner for 9-3-16 (maybe)

It's a bit messy here this morning and for today.
High winds and lots of rain. Nothing serious though.

http://i63.tinypic.com/14cgr6b.jpg

I feel sorry for all the furry families that live in
the tall oak trees right out front of my place.
Especially the young ones that have never experienced
this kind of weather. I'd invite them inside for the duration
(I've got a spare bedroom after all) but I don't know
squirrel language, only ferret. heheh :-D

Anyway, good chance I could lose electricity today
and if so and it lasts for hours, I'll be having some
kind of shrimp meal tonight. That's the first thing to
eat out of the freezer. Got a pound of frozen 26-30 count.

If I have to cook it all, I'll probably steam/boil with
spices half of them and fry the other half in garlic infused
EVOO (or plain oil).

Plan for dawn tomorrow morning - nice long walk along
the beach at water's edge. Nice to do right after a storm.

Stay safe, hope you didn't have an damage.

Looks like we are ok. Initials had it hitting the Atlantic over us but
now it's off the coast and seems headed very slowly to thr north.

I didn't get any personal damage but
one of my neighbors wasn't so lucky.
I just took this pic. It's on my street
only about 30 parking spaces from my van.

Also, RIGHT around the corner, another tree fell and
blocked 24th street for hours until someone cut it up.

Much tidal flooding and beach erosion. A minor tropical
storm though compared to what it could have been.

It's not over. Still another month of storm threats here.

ps - luckily, no power outage this time. whew!

I hear you've sent it out to sea so it gathers up strength again and
hits us mid-week - my only concern will be old trees that might come
through my windows but otherwise, if I could flood atop this hill,
Halifax would be submerged.

That's no fun! Virginia got hit much harder than where I live.
Tropical storms and hurricanes seem to jump right over us. Oh, sure,
Hermine dumped a lot of rain and it got pretty windy. My driveway was
covered with little bits of debris (leaves and small twigs). The mighty
oak in the front yard is still standing and so is the house.

Glad to hear it! The power didn't even blink here. Knock wood, it
seems we only have (extended) power outages when the weather is
perfectly calm. IOW, for no apparent reason.
