Default Taste of Texas

John's Birthday was yesterday, and today we received a large box from one of my sons, and Taste Of Texas. They are my most favorite steaks in the world ! In the box were four large New York Strip steaks and four big Fillets! I cannot wait to eat them . They are Angus Beef and having had them before, I am ready to grill them now !

Heck of a nice gift. I know you will enjoy them.

They should be good at the price they get for them. Delivered, the
strip steaks work out to be $50 a pound. I like to splurge at times and
go to Avon Prime where I get them them for much less. Last week we had
a 2 1/2" thick ribeye.

I cooked it a little different than usual after watching a Bobby Flay
show. Seasoned it with salt and pepper and seared it on a very hot
grill. I then transferred it to a hot cast iron pan, cut it in thick
slices and added a healthy amount of butter and some thyme. Reduced the
heat. closed the lid and basted it a few times cooking it to rare. It
was fantastic with a nice bottle of wine, roasted potatoes and tomato
salad.

Sounds like he received a very nice gift (from which you both will
benefit!). Happy belated b-day to him.
